Here’s Where You Can See Your Favorite Stars on The Big Screen This Spring!

With the theatrical release calendar once again packed, here’s what we’re waiting for!

Building off the successful Winter movie season with Spider-Man No Way Home and The Batman, the studios are back in full force releasing films with big stars. This spring will bring both indies and wide blockbuster releases with some stars that have been absent from our screens for quite a while. Here’s what we’re looking forward to seeing!

The Lost City – Sandra Bullock, Channing Tatum, Brad Pitt, Daniel Radcliffe – March 25th

An old-fashioned adventure in the jungle romantic comedy, The Lost City has been building hype after its SXSW screening as a fun and breezy throwback film. It’s Sandra Bullocks’ first major theatrical release since 2018s Oceans 8 and a continued career comeback for Channing Tatum, who recently emerged with Dog earlier this year. Bullock is a romantic novelist who gets kidnapped only for her cover model to have to save her played by Channing Tatum. Brad Pitt, most recently seen in Ad Astra in 2019 shows up as well as Harry Potter himself, Daniel Radcliffe.

Everything Everywhere All At Once – Michelle Yeoh – March 25th

Another festival favorite from SXSW this film is an indie festival favorite. Directed by the duo The Daniels and starring Michelle Yeoh as a woman who is just trying to file her taxes but gets caught up in a multiverse adventure. While Yeoh is often a supporting favorite such as in Shang Chi or the recent Star Trek series, this is her show and she knocks it out of the park according to early reviews,

Morbius – Matt Smith – April 1st

Jared Leto stars as Dr. Michael Morbius who is turned into a vampire after being afflicted with a mysterious condition. Leto has been getting plenty of screen time recently and most of the marketing for this film has focused on him as well. But also, in Morbius is a former Doctor, Matt Smith, best known as the eleventh Doctor Who. Recently in Last Night in Soho, Smith continues his villainous streak here and we’re excited to see it.

Sonic The Hedgehog 2 – Ben Schwartz, Jim Carrey, James Marsden, Idris Elba – April 8th

A sequel to 2020’s Sonic The Hedgehog, one of the last hits before the pandemic broke out, this sequel arrives two years later. The sequel brings back together most of the first film’s stars including: Sonic, voiced by Ben Schwartz, Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) and James Marsden as Sonic’s friend Tom. This time, Idris Elba joins the voice cast as Knuckles, a rival to Sonic. The first film was a fun movie for the whole family, and we expect this will be the same.

Ambulance – April 8 – Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Jake Gyllenhaal

Michael Bay’s return to the big screen promises to be Bay at his most extravagant. A bank robbery gone wrong and a high-speed pursuit through Los Angeles. An injured LAPD cop in a hijacked ambulance. A return to the big screen after streaming success for Yahya and the first big screen appearance of Jake Gyllenhaal after All Too Well’s re-release which could mean a fun press tour.

The Northman. – April 22- Alexander Skarsgaard, Anya Taylor Joy, Ethan Hawke, Nicole Kidman,

A Viking epic of revenge. with shades of Hamlet. Directed by Robert Eggers of The Witch and Lighthouse fame. A young prince sees his father murdered only to come back for revenge years later. Alexander Skarsgaard returns to the big screen after last year’s smash Godzilla v Kong. Nicole Kidman, fresh from her Oscar nomination and AMC pre roll video returns to the big screen, Anya Taylor Joy has one of her first big film roles finally released and it’s always good to see Ethan Hawke who also appears in Moon Knight on Disney+ this year.

The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent – April 22 – Nicolas Cage, Pedro Pascal, Tiffany Haddish

The zenith of Nicolas Cage movies is Nicolas Cage playing Nicolas Cage. Pedro Pascal is a super-rich superfan who invites Cage to his birthday party. And hijinks ensue. After last year’s critical darling Pig where Cage got to remind audiences that he can still give powerful performances, it’ll be fun to see his goofy side.

We can’t wait to see all these films and more!
