Grace Van Patten Talks Tell Me Lies Season 3

Grace Van Patten teases what fans can expect from Tell Me Lies season 3 while reflecting on her powerful role in The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox.

Grace Van Patten isn’t keeping quiet about what’s ahead for Tell Me Lies.

As the Hulu drama continues filming season 3, Van Patten—who leads the series as Lucy—opened up about where the story is heading following last fall’s shocking season 2 finale.

“It’s gonna be crazy,” she told E! News during the Aug. 19 premiere of The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox. “It feels like the peak of all these young peoples’ worst decisions.”

For longtime viewers, it may seem hard to imagine the drama escalating further. Season 2 ended with Jackson White’s Stephen dropping a bombshell by sending Bree (Catherine Missal) a damaging audio file on her wedding day. The revelation not only rattled Bree but also created tension with her bridesmaid Lucy and her groom Evan (Branden Cook), setting the stage for chaos in the next chapter.

While their onscreen relationship is defined by turmoil, Van Patten emphasized that her real-life dynamic with co-star Jackson White is much different. “He’s been nothing but a dream,” she said of White, who joined her at the premiere in support of her latest project.

That project, The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox, gave Van Patten the opportunity to take on one of her most intense roles yet. The series revisits the story of Amanda Knox, who was wrongfully convicted of murder in Italy in 2009 and later released in 2011 after serving four years in prison.

“It felt so important,” Van Patten explained. “I’m so thankful that I was able to be a part of the opportunity for Amanda to reclaim her story. I’ve never felt so fulfilled after a job.”

Portraying Knox also provided a deeper personal connection for the actress. “I’m amazed by her ability to trust and to forgive,” Van Patten shared. “I was very inspired by that mindset.”

Making the role even more meaningful was Knox herself being involved as an executive producer. “It feels like such a huge collaboration,” Van Patten said. “It was such a huge amount of trust that I’ve never experienced before. This felt very special.”

That trust went both ways. Knox praised Van Patten’s portrayal, saying, “She really truly captured what it was like for me to be going through this, all of the emotions. I’m so proud of her.”

With The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox now streaming on Hulu and Tell Me Lies season 3 in production, Van Patten’s year is shaping up to be one of her biggest yet—on screen and off.
