Five Nights At Freddy’s Joins Dead By Daylight This June

Five Nights at Freddy’s finally comes to Dead by Daylight this June with Springtrap as a Killer, voiced by Matthew Lillard himself.

After years of speculation and fan requests, Dead by Daylight is finally welcoming the terrifying world of Five Nights at Freddy’s to its ever-growing horror universe—and the crossover is set to drop this June.

Announced during the Dead by Daylight PAX East presentation, developer Behaviour Interactive revealed that Five Nights at Freddy’s will headline this year’s anniversary chapter. The centerpiece of the collaboration is none other than Springtrap, the sinister animatronic bunny also known as Yellow Rabbit or Spring Bonnie. To bring even more authenticity to the horror icon, Matthew Lillard has returned to voice Springtrap, reprising his role as William Afton from the 2023 Five Nights at Freddy’s movie. Matthew Lillard not only lends his voice but also his likeness for what Behaviour is calling a Legendary Outfit in the game.

Described by Behaviour as the “most requested license in Dead by Daylight history,” this FNaF crossover doesn’t stop with just a killer. Players will also get a new map: Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, which promises to be loaded with eerie Easter eggs and secrets waiting to be uncovered. While a precise release date hasn’t been confirmed, Behaviour teased that more details will be shared soon.

But Freddy Fazbear isn’t the only icon joining the fog. Behaviour also unveiled another major gaming crossover during the PAX East event—this time with CD Projekt Red’s The Witcher. Starting June 3, fans can pick up a special Witcher Collection that features Legendary and Very Rare outfits based on beloved characters from the fantasy RPG. Geralt of Rivia, portrayed through a Legendary Outfit for Dead by Daylight’s Vittorio Toscano, is a standout. The outfit comes with exclusive lobby animations and all-new voice lines recorded by Geralt’s original voice actor, Doug Cockle. Additional costumes include looks for Yennefer, Ciri, Triss, and Eredin.

Also joining the celebration is a new collaboration with Shudder’s cult drag horror competition series Dragula. Fans can expect the Boulet Brothers Collection to arrive on July 8, featuring a Winter Warrior outfit for The Huntress and the Boulet Brothers Artist outfit for The Artist.

Beyond the character and outfit reveals, Behaviour also shared its roadmap for quality of life improvements coming throughout 2025. Updates will kick off in June with a revamped Archives system and adjusted Gamma settings, with future enhancements planned for matchmaking, Custom Match spectators, and map/item balance.

Perhaps most exciting of all for longtime players is a major announcement teasing a community-driven Dead by Daylight chapter set to release in 2026. In this unique project, fans will vote on every detail of a brand-new Killer and Survivor, crafting their stories and designs from the ground up in what Behaviour describes as a choose-your-own-adventure-style experience.

Since launching in 2016, Dead by Daylight has steadily expanded through crossovers with Resident Evil, Dungeons & Dragons, Tokyo Ghoul, and more. Now, with Five Nights at Freddy’s officially joining the ranks, Behaviour is proving that there’s always room for more horror at the table.
