Fashion Trends Gen-Z Doesn’t Want To Come Back!

Fashion trends come and go, but some should never return.  Let’s take a look at all the fashion trends that Gen-Z believes should be kept in history!

Fashion is always evolving and changing. Trends come and go, but some are better left in the past. With New York Fashion Week 2022 setting the new fashion trends for the year, let’s take a look at some that should never come back.

Low Rise Jeans

2021 brought a serious Y2K fashion wave. This “trendy” style was inspired in all things 1990s and 2000s. Tiny handbags, pops of color and graphic logos all made their way back to 2021.

With this movement, we slowly saw the return of low rise jeans.

Besides being extremely uncomfortable, low rise jeans are not a flattering look for most people. With so many styles out there, low rise jeans should forever stay in history.

Side Bangs

15 years ago side bangs were the go to haircut. From Beyonce to Lindsey Lohan, the side bang was the go to style. For some reason, everyone chose to fry the front portion of their hair and wear it all over their face.

Not only are side bangs a thing of the past, but they are also very hard to maintain. For curly haired girls, keeping those locks straight is a nightmare. For straight hair girls, getting bangs to stay there requires way too much hairspray.

It is safe to say that the side bang is something that should stay in 2010.

Chokers

Off the shoulder shirts with chokers were hot in 2017. The history of chokers dates back to the French revolution. A few years ago they made their way back into the fashion game.

Chokers were everywhere! They came in all sorts of styles too!

Lace, charmed, tattoo chokers were the go to look, especially when paired with an off the shoulder or a velvet crop top.

Chokers aren’t a horrible look, but layering necklaces is a way cuter option.

Jeggings, especially ripped jeggings

Super skinny jeans are a controversial subject. Some people like them, some people don’t. Regardless of your opinion, they are a thing of the past.

Recently, high rise, wide leg and mom jeans have been a much trendier option. If you are a jegging lover, try out some slim fit jeans that give you some space to breathe.

Hair Feathers

In 2012, hair feathers were an actual thing. Celebrities like Selena Gomez, Lucy Hale, and Kesha wore feathers for everything from music videos to red carpets.

Recently, Tik Tok star Addison Rae posted a picture wearing a hair feather. As much as the preteens inside of us loved the hair feather, it has served its time. Some people thought that it would make its way back with the Y2K trend, but thankfully that crisis was averted.

Thin Eyebrows

Why were thin eyebrows ever a thing?

It might be surprising to know that thin eyebrows have been a consistent trend for many years. But, in 2010, people collectively shifted to fuller and natural brows.

The more natural you make your eyebrows seem, the better. We should keep it that way.

Despite some horrible fashion trends, we never truly know what’s going to be the next trendy thing. Hopefully, these styles stay in the past.
