The Ghostbusters are back with another iteration that sees the old and new Ghostbusters joining forces to save the world from an evil that can plunge it into another Ice Age. Read on to learn everything you need to know about ‘Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire.’
Directed by Gil Kenan the supernatural comedy serves as a direct sequel to 2021s Ghostbusters: Afterlife. The movie brings back all the old and new Ghostbusters once again to provide nostalgia to the audience as well as to introduce a new generation to the iconic ghost hunters. The long-running franchise has been a fan favorite for a couple of generations, now and returns with some haunting ghosts and supernatural beings to excite its longstanding fans.
The new feature will see the Spengler family leaving Summerville and going back to the iconic New York City firehouse to help the original Ghostbusters, who’ve developed a top-secret research lab. However, things take a turn when the discovery of an ancient artifact unleashes a mysterious and evil force, the Death Chill. Now all the Ghostbusters must come together to protect their home and save the world.

The movie brings back Paul Rudd as Gary Grooberson, Carrie Coon as Callie Spengler, Finn Wolfhard as Trevor Spengler, Mckenna Grace as Phoebe Spengler, Patton Oswalt as Hubert, Celeste O’Connor as Lucky Domingo, Logan Kim as Podcast, Dan Aykroyd as Dr. Raymond “Ray” Stantz along with Ernie Hudson as Dr. Winston Zeddemore, Annie Potts as Janine Melnitz, Bill Murray as Dr. Peter Venkman, and William Atherton as Walter Peck. Further supporting them in the cast are Kumail Nanjiani, James Acaster, and Emily Alyn Lind in undisclosed roles.

The first teaser trailer of the film was recently released and sees people of New York dying due to “cold chills in the month of June.” Wreaking this havoc is an evil force, that can freeze everything and plunge the planet into perpetual Ice Age. We see glimpses of all our heroes uniting for the ultimate face-off. Over all the movie looks thrilling, with good visuals and strong characters.
Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is scheduled to be released in the United States on March 29, 2024.
