Everything We Know About ‘Goosebumps’!

Goosebumps is the newest adaptation based on the popular book series by R.L. Stine. Here’s everything we know about the show!

Goosebumps is set to premiere on October 13, 2023. It will be streaming on Disney+ and Hulu. It will also be a part of Disney+’s Hallowstream. The official trailer dropped on September 14, 2023.

The Plot

The show will focus on five teenagers who accidentally release supernatural forces upon their town. They must work together despite their differences to stop the threat, but along the way, they uncover their parents’ dark pasts when they were teenagers themselves.

Cast

The series will star Justin Long as Nathan Bratt, a new school teacher who will have a chilling connection to a supernatural murder that occurred long ago. Ana Yi Pieug will play Isabella, one of the five teenagers and she is said to be shy, but very responsible. Miles Mckenna is playing James, the class clown who comes from a wealthy family. Zach Morris is playing Isiah, a popular football player whose life is financially rough at home. Isa Briones is playing Jane who is a bookworm and is focused on creating a compelling memoir. Will Price is playing Jeff, a skateboarder who recently lost his father. Rachael Harris is set to play Nora and Ron Huebel will be playing Colin.

Trailer Reactions

When the trailer came out many people posted reactions on TikTok. A lot of people pointed out that Slappy the Dummy, a popular villain from the book series will return. One fan said that it looks like there will be more horror elements compared to the original TV show, but will still have those funny moments. Another fan said the series looks like a thrilling reboot and can’t wait to binge-watch it.

Various Adaptations

There have been multiple adaptations of the book series over the years. The first was the anthology TV series that ran from 1995-1998. The second was R.L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour which was another anthology series that ran from 2010-2014. The third was the Goosebumps movie that premiered in 2015 and starred Jack Black as the famous author R.L Stine. A sequel was released in 2018 with Jack Black reprising his character.
