Everything Fans Need To Know About ‘Moana 2’!

‘Moana’ made waves when it came out in 2016, and the sequel is sure to do the same! With the teaser trailer being released recently, here is everything fans need to know about ‘Moana 2′.

Plot

Moana told the story about Moana and her town which was cursed when the demigod, Maui, disturbed the goddess Te Fiti. The sequel picks up where the last film ended, when Moana gets a call from her ancestors. She must journey to Oceania to experience an adventure like she never has before. This will be a compelling new addition to the franchise as Moana will have to decide between leaving her family behind again or taking to the seas.

Teaser

Walt Disney Animation Studio released a sixteen second teaser trailer after giving a sneak peak at CinemaCon. In the teaser, we can see a beautiful island during the sunset with Moana standing on the shore blowing the horn that summons Maui. Fans are excited to see the two reunited and are curious to what adventures they are going to get up to!

Cast and Crew

Returning to the franchise will be both lead actors, Auli’i Cravalho and Dwanye Johnson. Also signed onto the project is Alan Tudyk returning to play the character of HeiHei. While there is no information about other characters or who will be voicing them, it seems as though there has been changes to the crew. Ron Clements, John Musker, and Don Hall, who directed the first film, will not be returning to direct the new project. Instead. David G. Derrick Jr, known for his work on Megamind and Flushed Away is credited as both a writer and director; Moana 2 will be his directorial debut.

Release Date and Where To Watch

Moana 2 will be released on November 27th, 2024. Audiences will be able to view the film in theaters and then on Disney+ at a later date!
