Netflix announces Dan Levy’s Big Mistakes as the official title of his family crime comedy series while revealing new cast members and production start.
Netflix has officially unveiled the title of Dan Levy’s highly anticipated family crime comedy, Big Mistakes, while also confirming a new wave of cast members and the start of production in New Jersey.
The series, co-created by and starring Dan Levy, adds a strong lineup of talent to its ensemble. Among the newly announced series regulars are Jack Innanen (Adults, The Office Movers) as Max, Boran Kuzum (Thank You, Next, Bihter: A Forbidden Passion) as Yusuf, and Abby Quinn (Hell of a Summer, Knock at the Cabin) as Natalie.
Recurring cast members include Elizabeth Perkins (Weeds, Sharp Objects) as Annette, Jacob Gutierrez (Dear Edward, Bull) as Tareq, Joe Barbara (Just in Time, FBI) as Mike, Josh Fadem (Better Call Saul, Twin Peaks) as Ashley, and Mark Ivanir (Emilia Pérez, Zero Day) as Ivan.
They join the previously announced cast featuring Taylor Ortega (Welcome To Flatch, The Four Seasons, Another Simple Favor) as Morgan and Emmy Award winner Laurie Metcalf (Lady Bird, Scream 2, Roseanne, Hacks) as Linda. Levy himself will star as Nicky.
Big Mistakes marks the first series from Levy’s overall television deal with Netflix, continuing his creative partnership with the streamer following the release of his directorial debut film Good Grief. The project also reunites Levy with his production company, Not a Real Production Company, and is his second original scripted series following the global success of the Emmy-winning Schitt’s Creek.
Created and executive produced by Levy and Rachel Sennott (Bottoms), the series will run for eight episodes. The story follows two deeply incapable siblings who find themselves blackmailed into the unpredictable and dangerous world of organized crime.
Levy serves as creator, showrunner, executive producer, and star, with Anne-Marie McGintee also executive producing for Not a Real Production Company.
