Celebrity Memoirs Coming in 2023!

This is the year for book and celebrity lovers! So far, in 2023, there have been celebrity biographies and memoirs that we just cannot put down. But what else is coming to the bookshelves later this year? We’re here to tell you!

In 2023, we have been graced with memoirs such as Spare by Prince Harry and Love, Pamela by Pamela Anderson. According to Kristin Kraves Book, memoirs “allow you to enter another person’s world, which will help you to better understand and empathize with those around you.” Why not spend the rest of the year reading amazing memoirs written by amazing people? There may even be a few that you can grab for a summer read. 

The Big Reveal by Sasha Velour

Sasha Velour has created a memoir that is made up of pieces of “history and theory into a living portrait of an artist and an art.” Velour has inserted her photos and original artwork, and this allows her to “illuminate drag as a unique form of expression with a rich history and a revolutionary spirit.” You will also read about how Sasha Velour learned about the craft of drag while also allowing readers to learn more about her journey and life. 

On November 29th, 2022, Velour revealed the cover of the memoir on her Instagram.

Fans have left supportive comments underneath the post. @fashionbyreyortiz wrote “NEED! This Icon will be on my coffee table,” and @tea4tillerman wrote “I’m so ready for this, I can’t begin to tell you how much 😍” on the post.

You can pre-order the “manifesto” here for $45, but the book will officially be available on April 4th, 2023. It is also available on Audio CD for $41.99. This will be a fantastic read for your summer days. 

Chita: A Memoir by Chita Rivera

Get ready to learn more about the three-time Tony Award-winner Dolores Conchita Figueroa del Rivero! Written in gratitude to her fans, she is hoping that the generations after hers can learn from her experiences. Rivera takes readers behind the scenes and curtains and into the highs and lows of her life in showbusiness. She takes us into workrooms, rehearsal studios, stages, and sets, plus we meet with some amazing names such as Bob Fosse and Liza Minnelli.

Chita Rivera works with journalist Patrick Pacheco, who is the co-author. This is not the first time they have worked together, as he was credited with biographical research on Chita Rivera: The Dancer’s Life, which is Rivera’s autobiographical solo show. Fans cannot wait to read about the legend’s experiences.

Rivera’s memoir will be available on April 25th, 2023, but you can pre-order the book for $29.99 at Barnes & Noble website. Get ready to read and step into the shoes of the Broadway icon herself. 

Pageboy by Elliot Page

This memoir tells the story of Elliot Page and is filled with “behind the scene details and intimate interrogations on sex, love, trauma, and Hollywood; Pageboy is the story of a life pushed to the brink.” It is a coming-of-age that follows the fame Page was thrown into after the release of Juno. He speaks about the “criticism and abuse he received from some of the most powerful people in Hollywood.” In the memoir, Page will also speak about the relationship he has with his own body, mental health, love, and sex. 

On December 5th, 2022, via Instagram, Page revealed the cover for Pageboy, and the internet broke out in support of the Oscar-nominated star.

If You Would Have Told Me by John Stamos

On October 24th, 2023, you can get a peek into the heart and life of John Stamos. The book tells the stories of love, friendship, and fatherhood. Stamos writes about Hollywood, the fame, the fortune, but also the mistakes he made along the way. In this heartbreaking and heartening memoir, Stamos “encourages readers to find moments of beauty in their own lives, practice gratitude, and trust in something bigger than themselves.”

On September 14th, 2022, Henry Holt, the publishing house, announced that Stamos would be writing his long awaited memoir. Stamos wants to honor all of the people who have made him who he is today. Fans are already counting down the days until the book is available.

My Name is Barbra by Barbra Streisand

The memoir, written by the EGOT queen herself, tells the transparent story of Barbra Streisand “from Brooklyn to Broadway, to Brolin, and everything in between.” She writes about the struggles she faced while working to become a household name as an actress and singer. Having a career spanning over 6 decades, fans the memoir to be filled with a plethora of experiences. 

The Funny Girl alum announced the release of her memoir on an Instagram post on February 7th.

Fans left comments letting the icon know they have already preordered the yet-to-be-released memoir. With some leaving comments saying “Take my money!!” from @timbittoo or “…the way I pre-ordered it less than a minute after you posted this. ❤️” from @martinezmau.
