Brad Pitt Rumored For The Batman Part Two Role

Rumors swirl that Brad Pitt might join The Batman: Part Two, though sources say he won’t appear, with production now targeting a May 2026 start.

A new rumor has fans buzzing about the potential for Brad Pitt to appear in The Batman: Part Two, but sources close to the production have clarified that Pitt will not be in the movie. The film is currently aiming to begin shooting in May 2026.

Earlier reports suggested that Pitt was at one point in talks for an undisclosed role in the sequel, but scheduling conflicts prevented him from joining. Matt Reeves is currently casting two middle-aged male antagonists for the film, and fan speculation has linked Pitt to one of these roles, though there’s no confirmation.

Scarlett Johansson is confirmed to appear in an undisclosed role, adding star power to the already impressive cast. Robert Pattinson will return as Bruce Wayne/Batman, alongside Colin Farrell’s Penguin, Andy Serkis Alfred, Jeffrey Wright’s Commissioner Gordon, and Barry Keoghan reprising the Joker. However, Zoë Kravitz will not be returning as Catwoman.

Fans have pointed to a possible connection between Reeves and Pitt’s production company, Plan B, as a hint toward the rumor’s plausibility. Reeves mentioned in a September interview with THR that he had discussions with Plan B about “putting crew together” for the sequel. Despite this, the timing of Pitt’s upcoming projects, including Edward Berger’s The Riders in January 2026, has made a formal involvement unlikely. Pitt is also attached to Oceans 14, which won’t be ready until the fall of 2026 at the earliest.

Director Matt Reeves will helm The Batman: Part Two with Erik Messerschmidt serving as director of photography. The sequel is currently eyeing an October 1, 2027 release, promising the return of familiar characters and fresh storylines for Gotham City’s dark vigilante saga.
