Beyoncé brings Cowboy Carter concert to a sudden stop after mid-air Cadillac prop tilts, forcing her to cling on during dramatic moment.
Beyoncé fans witnessed a heart-stopping moment during her Cowboy Carter tour stop in Houston as a red Cadillac stage prop malfunctioned mid-air, forcing the superstar to abruptly pause her performance.
During Saturday night’s show — the 23rd stop on her 32-date Cowboy Carter stadium tour — Beyoncé was performing her country ballad “16 Carriages” while seated in a red Cadillac suspended above the crowd. But what began as another high-production moment in her three-hour spectacle quickly turned tense as the car began to tilt precariously to one side.
“Stop! Stop, stop, stop stop,” Beyoncé called out, halting the performance as she clung to a nearby flagpole for support. Audience gasps echoed through the venue before turning into cheers as the 43-year-old star smiled and waved while being slowly and safely lowered to the ground.
@thenewsmovementBeyonce was forced to stop her show when the car she was sitting in started to tilt in mid-air. Halfway through the song, 16 Carriages, the red Cadillac threatened to throw her onto her fans below, prompting the singer to cut the song saying “stop, stop, stop.” The Houston audience watched on in terror until Mrs. Carter was safely lowered to the ground. It’s likely that “somebody’s getting fired” but Beyonce thanked her crowd when she returned to the stage saying “If I fall I know y’all catch me.”♬ original sound – The News Movement
“If ever I fall, I know y’all will catch me,” she later told the crowd, staying composed and gracious despite the technical hiccup.
Videos of the moment quickly spread across social media, with fans referencing her legendary quip during a 2010 lighting issue: “Somebody’s getting fired.”
Parkwood Entertainment, Beyoncé’s production company, released a statement calling the issue a “technical mishap” and assured fans that “she was quickly lowered and no one was injured. The show continued without incident.”
This isn’t the first time a stage element has gone rogue during Beyoncé’s tours. Earlier in the Cowboy Carter run, a robot bartender missed its cue to pour her a drink, and back in 2018 on the On The Run II tour with Jay-Z, she was forced to descend a broken platform using a ladder — in heels and a sequined leotard.
Despite the unexpected drama, Beyoncé’s Houston performance — her hometown show — was a massive success. The Cowboy Carter tour has drawn acclaim for its dynamic blend of country flair, tight choreography, and family cameos from daughters Blue Ivy, 13, and Rumi, 8.
The tour has already shattered ticket sales records at major venues like the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London and Stade de France in Paris, both previously held — unsurprisingly — by Beyoncé herself.
As the Cowboy Carter journey rides toward its final stop in Las Vegas next month, fans are reminded that even when things go sideways (literally), Queen Bey never misses a beat.
