Ariana Grande and Josh Gad are joining Warner Bros’ animated Dr. Seuss adaptation Oh, the Places You’ll Go! with Jon M. Chu directing and original music by Pasek & Paul.
Ariana Grande and Josh Gad are officially headed to Seussville. The two stars have been cast in the upcoming animated feature Oh, the Places You’ll Go!, Warner Bros. Pictures Animation’s adaptation of the classic 1990 Dr. Seuss book.
The project, announced via Warner Bros.’ official Instagram, is being directed by Jon M. Chu (Wicked), with Jill Culton on board as co-director. The film is scheduled to hit IMAX theaters on March 17, 2028, and will feature original songs by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, the songwriting duo behind La La Land.

Produced by J.J. Abrams and Gregg Taylor through Bad Robot, the film is based on Dr. Seuss’ final published book. Oh, the Places You’ll Go! tells the inspirational tale of a young traveler venturing into the unknown, navigating both triumphs and setbacks—a metaphor for life’s journey that has resonated across generations.
Rob Lieber penned the screenplay for the adaptation, which brings one of Seuss’ most cherished works to the big screen. Upon its original release, the book topped The New York Times Best-Selling Fiction Hardcover list, placing Seuss among the rare authors to achieve #1 status in both fiction and nonfiction, alongside names like John Steinbeck and James Patterson.
For Ariana Grande, the film marks yet another major collaboration with Chu. Following her Oscar-nominated turn as Glinda in Wicked, she’ll reprise the role in Wicked: For Good, premiering November 21. She’s also set to appear in the next Meet the Parents sequel with Robert De Niro and Ben Stiller.
Josh Gad, meanwhile, has a packed slate with the upcoming Spaceballs sequel for Amazon—where he stars and produces—alongside roles in Paramount’s Adulthood and Disney’s Frozen 3.
Oh, the Places You’ll Go! brings together a powerhouse creative team and voice cast, setting the stage for a dazzling musical adventure with timeless emotional resonance.
