A Man on the Inside Season 2 trailer reveals Ted Danson’s undercover return, new mysteries, and a surprising romance ahead of the Netflix premiere this November.
Netflix has unveiled the official trailer and key art for Season 2 of A Man on the Inside, giving fans a first look at Ted Danson’s return as Charles Nieuwendyk. The new season premieres November 20, 2025, bringing more undercover antics, emotional twists, and a new mystery with a long list of suspects.
From creator Mike Schur and based on the Oscar-nominated documentary The Mole Agent, this season follows Charles as he eagerly dives into another undercover mission. When Wheeler College president Jack Berenger, played by Max Greenfield, becomes the target of a mysterious blackmailer, he turns to Charles for help. Charles is sent undercover once again—this time posing as a professor on campus.
With a proposed donation from billionaire and Wheeler alum Brad Vinick (Gary Cole) raising eyebrows, Charles faces multiple suspects and tangled motives. But the mission becomes complicated when he meets Mona, a free-spirited music teacher played by Mary Steenburgen. Her charm and passion for life awaken emotions he thought were buried after the loss of his wife. Charles must now juggle the risk of falling in love with the possibility that Mona may be connected to the very crime he’s investigating.
Meanwhile, his daughter Emily (Mary Elizabeth Ellis) is inspired by her father’s transformation and begins exploring her own long-suppressed ambitions. Private investigator Julie (Lilah Richcreek Estrada) also embarks on a personal journey, reconnecting with someone meaningful from her past.
Season 2 will feature eight 30-minute episodes and bring back an ensemble cast including Stephanie Beatriz, Michaela Conlin, Lisa Gilroy, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Constance Marie, Gary Cole, Jason Mantzoukas, Madison Hu, Linda Park, David Strathairn, Jill Talley, and more. Expect an array of fun guest stars, each playing potential suspects in Charles’ latest undercover operation.
Executive producers include Mike Schur, Morgan Sackett, David Miner, Maite Alberdi, Marcela Santibañez, Julie Goldman, and Christopher Clements. The series is produced by Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group.
A Man on the Inside Season 2 premieres November 20 exclusively on Netflix. Fans can now watch the official trailer and view new key art to get a sneak peek at the emotional stakes, clever twists, and heartwarming surprises ahead.
