8 HBO Max Shows To Binge Before Season 2!

These binge-worthy series from HBO Max have only one season so far but have all been renewed for a second one. The release dates have yet to be announced, leaving you plenty of time to get caught up!

 Sex Lives of College Girls

From creators Mindy Kaling and Justin Noble, the show follows four freshman roommates as they attempt to find themselves at renowned Essex College in Vermont. The first season ended with some cliffhangers, but the good news is that Season 2 is currently in production.


The White Lotus

This dark comedy uncovers the exploits of various guests and employees at a luxurious Hawaiian resort over a one week span. Mike White, the show’s creator, is continuing the series with new characters and a new destination. Season 2 officially began filming in Sicily in February 2022.

Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty

Created by Max Borenstein and Jimy Hecht, HBO’s hit basketball series is based on the book Showtime: Magic, Kareem, Riley, and the Los Angeles Lakers Dynasty of the 1980s by Jeff Pearlman. The series chronicles one of sport’s most esteemed dynasties and was renewed for season 2 shortly after the the 5th episode aired.


Toyko Vice

The series was created by J.T Rogers and loosely based on the 2009 book Tokyo Vice by American journalist Jake Adelstein. The show follows Adelstein, played by Ansel Elgort, who built a career as a crime reporter in Tokyo. HBO Max ordered a second season of the crime drama television series in June 2022.


This American comedy created and written by Ellen Rapoport is coming back for season 2. The show is set in the 1970s following self-proclaimed feminist Joyce Prigger who joins forces with low-rent publisher Dough Renetti to create the world’s first erotic magazine for women. There is no word on when it will be back


Gossip Girl

The Gossip Girl reboot centers on a new generation of social media, gossip, and New York private school teens. From the creators Joshua Safran, Stephanie Savage, and Josh Schwartz, the show garnered record-breaking views and was renewed by HBO Max after the first six episodes of season 1. Season 2 of the revival series began production back in early February 2022.


And Just Like That

The revival of the HBO television series Sex and the City created by Darren Star is another reboot being renewed for a second season. Creator Michael Patrick confirmed that production is due to begin in October 2022. Patrick also revealed that Samantha Jones will be making an appearance in the second season in one form or another.



James Gunn created the show as a spin-off from his 2021 hit movie The Suicide Squad. Based on the DC Comics character Peacemaker, this action-packed series is coming out with a second season which Gunn will script.
