In the music industry, we have many female musicians and artists who are pioneers in their respective fields.

Malina Moye

Malina Moye is an African-American singer-songwriter who is also one of the first Black left-handed upside-down female guitarists and endorsee for Fender Guitars, which makes her one of a kind given her talent and skill. As an artist, she frequently combines rock and soul genres and often draws comparrison to Jimi Hendrix. Interesting fact; she even performed for the late Queen Elizabeth II. She will be going on tour this April as well as releasing a new album DIRTY on March 17!

Cher

Who doesn’t love the song “Believe” by Cher? Her 1998 hit was produced by Mark Taylor and Brian Rawling, it is an iconic song that changed the world of music forever. This popular song with pitch-corrected vocals influenced what we now call auto-tune which later influenced the music scene.

Madonna

The “Like a Virgin” singer is the first best-selling female recording artist and has sold over 300 million albums in her career. The Like a Virgin album also became the first solo female album to sell more than five million copies in the United States; Impressive!

Beyonce

American Singer-Songwriter Beyoncé is the artist with the most Grammy Awards of all time as of 2023. She currently has 32 awards surpassing the amount of conductor Georg Solti, a Hungarian-British conductor who passed in 1997. Beyoncé has always been the Queen but this certifies it even more!

Dolly Parton

Dolly Parton is country music royalty and has earned it by having the most hits for a female artist on the Billboard’s Hot Country Songs Chart with 109 hits on the chart. She is also the only country music artist with Top 20 US country hits in the last six decades. With timeless songs like “Jolene,” “9 to 5” and “I Will Always Love You,” we definitely aren’t surprised by this news.
