This year many actors of Hispanic heritage and background are taking on the big screen with new and amazing projects! Here are five actors to look out for this year.

Ana De Armas

Chances are you have seen this actress in a few of your favorite films, such as Blonde, No Time To Die, and Knives Out, to name a few. Armas is a Cuban- Spanish actress born in Havana, Cuba. She is set to become part of the John Wick Universe, starring in Ballerina as an in-between movie. She will be accompanied by Keanu Reeves as part of the film, although a release date has not been mentioned yet. We can’t wait to see her portray this new and exciting character in the John Wick franchise!

Adria Arjona

You may recognize Adria Arjona’s last name if you knew that her father is Latin singer-songwriter, Ricardo Arjona. Although she is of Guatemalan nationality, Adria was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, making her Hispanic. You may have seen her in films such as Morbius, Father of The Bride, or even the Disney+ series Andor. This actress will be starring in the feature film adaptation of Francisco Godman’s best-selling book Say Her Name alongside Wagner Moura.

Jordana Brewster

If you love everything Fast & Furious, you definitely know Jordana Brewster. Brewster was born in Panama City, Panama, and is known for being a part of the hit franchise as Mia Toretto. She will be participating in the anticipated upcoming Fast X film. However, it was mentioned by co-star Vin Diesel that the film almost did not include her character. The iconic Penelope Cruz was born in the Municipality of Alcobendas, Spain, and her partner is above actor Javier Bardem! You may have seen her other Pirate film, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. Some of her other notable credits include Nine, Vanilla Sky, and Blow. This year she will be in Michael Mann’s Ferrari along with co-star Adam Driver. This will be a biographical film about the famous car brand.
