If you haven’t already, add these five TikTok viral books that are getting screen adaptations this year to your reading list.

It seems that every book that trends on TikTok, from The Love Hypothesis to People We Met On Vacation, ends up being adapted for the screen to the excitement of many fans. While some of the more popular books like It Ends With Us are still in the early stages of production, there are many more that are set to be released this year for fans to enjoy in the meantime. We’ve rounded up five viral books that are getting screen time this year, and if you haven’t already, are definitely worth the read.

Daisy Jones & the Six

This 70’s-inspired Taylor Jenkins Reid book has captivated fans since its release in March 2019. Now four years later, it’s getting its own miniseries on Amazon Prime, which will drop on March 3. Fans can’t wait to see Riley Keough and Sam Claflin star in this gripping rockstar tale.

The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes

Susanne Collins’ Hunger Games were huge hits both on paper and the big screen, so it’s no surprise that her Hunger Games prequel starring President Snow which dropped in May of 2020, already has a movie adaptation coming out Nov 17. With an incredible cast that includes Euphoria’s Hunter Schafer and the iconic Viola Davis, fans are already predicting that this movie will be a big hit.

One True Loves

This movie, based on another amazing Taylor Jenkins Reid book, stars Simu Liu opposite Phillipa Soo. Supposedly production wrapped up last month despite being slated for release late last year. While there isn’t a definite drop date for it yet, fans are hoping it will appear on screens late this year, with some speculating a release date in April.

The Idea of You

While people love to hate on After, the popular Wattpad fanfiction turned Netflix hit hasn’t stopped the Idea of You, another Harry Styles-inspired book, from being adapted to the screen. Anne Hathaway is set to star in this adaptation of the Robinne Lee book slated to be released close to the end of this year.

Red, White & Royal Blue

With other queer shows like Heartstopper gaining a lot of attention on Netflix this year, This movie, also set to be released by Amazon Prime this year, has garnered a lot of attention on social media.
