TV Shows Premiering The Week Of December 6th, 2020

We are officially in the last month of 2020, and this is what you have to look forward to watching! 

Sunday, December 6th

90 Day Fiance

The series that started it all is back! We weren’t sure if another season was going to be doable due to the pandemic, but luckily it was. The new season follows new couples as well as 3 pairs of familiar faces. With the drama we have all come to expect, you can be sure there will also be added drama due to the pandemic and quarantine. New episodes will be available every Sunday at 8 pm ET on TLC.

American Monster

The 6th season of the crime thriller from Investigation Discovery gives us a closer look at some of America’s most shocking and surprising crimes. Filled with unseen footage of these astonishing crimes. New episodes will be available every Sunday at 9 pm ET.

Euphoria

The first part of the 2 part special that will bridge the gap between seasons 1 and 2 is here. While not an actual season, since the show can’t film currently due to the pandemic, the specials will give fans some insight and intrigue to hold them over until the actual season can be filmed. The episodes will be available at 9 pm ET on Sundays or on Fridays on HBO Max.

Power Book II: Ghost

The Power spinoff will pick up the narrative just days after the “Power” finale. The sequel then follows Tariq navigating his new life, in which his desire to shed his father’s legacy comes up against the mounting pressure to save his family. There will be familiar faces from the original series, as well as Mary J. Blige and Cliff “Method Man” Smith joining the cast. The series will be 10 episodes, with new episodes being available every Sunday at 8 pm ET on STARZ.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta

The housewives are back for their 13th season, minus Nene Leakes, that is. However, newcomer Drew Sidora will join the cast in her stead. While we’re sure the drama will be as prevalent as ever, it will be interesting seeing how these ladies handle the pandemic, especially with how quickly Georgia reopened. New episodes will be available every Sunday at 8 pm ET on Bravo.

Shameless

The final of the hit series is here! The new season finds the Gallagher family and the South Side at a crossroads, with changes caused by the pandemic, gentrification, and aging to reconcile. As Frank confronts his own mortality and family ties in his alcoholic and drug induced twilight years, Lip struggles with the prospect of becoming the family’s new patriarch. Newlyweds Ian and Mickey are figuring out the rules and responsibilities of being in a committed relationship while Deb embraces her individuality and single motherhood. Carl finds an unlikely new career in law enforcement, and Kevin and V struggle to decide whether a hard life on the South Side is worth fighting for. The last season is sure to be one to tune into. You can catch new episodes every Sunday at 9 pm ET on Showtime.

Your Honor

The newest limited series from Showtime stars Bryan Cranston as a New Orleans judge, Michael Desiato, who is forced to confront his own deepest convictions when his son is involved in a hit and run that embroils an organized crime family. The series will be 10 episodes, and new episodes will air every Sunday at 10 pm ET.

Monday, December 7th

Nurses

The newest series from NBC follows five young nurses working on the frontlines of a busy downtown hospital, dedicating their lives to helping others while struggling to help themselves. The season will be 10 episodes, with new episodes airing every Monday at 10 pm ET.

Wednesday, December 9th

The Challenge: Double Agents

The Challenge: Double Agents returns to a partner format and will consist of 19 episodes. Filmed in Iceland, the series will feature 30 of the strongest reality titans from around the globe, who are forced to outsmart each other in a game of secrets, spies, and lies for their share of one million dollars. New episodes will air every Wednesday at 8 pm on MTV.

Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch Musical!

The classic children’s tale gets a makeover in this special. Starring Matthew Morrison (Glee) as the grinch, the special is 2 hours long and will be filmed at the Troubadour Theatre in London. You can watch the special at 8 pm on December 9th on NBC.

The Great Christmas Light Fight

The hit decorating series returns for its 8th season. The show brings America’s brightest houses brings viewers across the country to the most elaborate and awe-inspiring holiday displays in the nation. This holiday season, we will once again see four fantastic families face off in each one-hour episode and compete to win $50,000 should they “sleigh” the competition. New episodes will air every Wednesday at 8 pm ET on ABC.

The Trial of Christine Keeler

The limited series takes a fresh look at one of the most infamous British stories: the chain of events in the 1960s that came to be known as the Profumo Affair. All 6 episodes will be available on Wednesday, December 9th, on HBO Max.

Thursday, December 10th

House of Ho

Follow the lives, loves, and conflicts of the Hos, a wealthy Vietnamese-American family in Houston who’ve built a multimillion-dollar empire. In this unique and wildly entertaining new reality series, power struggles and family drama collide as Binh and Hue, immigrants who proudly achieved the American dream, attempt to control the lives of their adult children, Washington and Judy, who find themselves under constant pressure to live up to their parents’ impossible expectations. Along with Washington’s wife Lesley, kooky Aunt Tina, and party girl Cousin Sammy, the Ho household is filled with love, laughter, and of course, designer handbags. All 8 episodes will be available on Thursday, December 10th, on HBO Max.

Friday, December 11th

Adult Material

Set in modern Britain, the new HBO Max drama delves inside the porn industry from the perspective of a woman who has been working in it her entire adult life and has seen it grow from an illegitimate backroom enterprise to a mainstream and highly profitable arm of the telecommunications industry. All 4 episodes will be available on December 11th.

The Christmas Caroler Challenge

The second season of the festive competition show is back. Hosted by Dean Cain and Laura McKenzie, the three-episode two-hour-long Christmas caroling competition event series features 10 extraordinary Christmas carol groups, each with their own stylized brand of performance, in celebrating the great Christmas music we have all come to love. We’ll meet these groups from the most elaborate ultra-traditional virtuoso performances to those with the most unexpected twists on the classic Christmas carol. The season will be 6 episodes, with 2 episodes airing every Friday starting at 8 pm ET on CW.

High School Musical: The Musical: The Holiday Special

The hit spinoff of the hit film franchise is returning for a holiday special. While we’re sure the special will feature at least a few tunes to get you in the holiday mood, we don’t know too much else about it. What we do know, though, is even better. After the special, we will also get to see a sneak peek at the highly anticipated 2nd season! The special will be available on Disney+ on December 11th.

The Prom

The broadway musical turned Netflix film with an all-star cast is finally here! The film stars James Cordon, Meryl Streep, Andrew Rannells, and Nicole Kidman as over the top and down on their luck Broadway performers who travel to a small town in Indiana to help a young girl who wants to take her girlfriend to the prom but isn’t being allowed to. The film also stars Ariana DeBose, Keegan Michael Key, and Kerry Washington. The film will be available in select theaters and on Netflix on December 11th.

The Wilds

The new Amazon Prime show follows a group of teen girls from different backgrounds who must fight for survival after a plane crash strands them on a deserted island. The castaways both clash and bond as they learn more about each other, the secrets they keep, and the traumas they’ve all endured. The twist? These girls did not end up on this island by accident. The season will be 10 episodes, and they will all be available on December 11th.
