Tom Felton Returns as Draco Malfoy on Broadway

Tom Felton returns to the Wizarding World to make his Broadway debut as an adult Draco Malfoy in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

Tom Felton is heading back to Hogwarts—this time, on Broadway. The Harry Potter alum will reprise his iconic role as Draco Malfoy in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, marking his highly anticipated Broadway debut.

Tom Felton is set to join the cast on November 11, stepping into the role for a 19-week run that will continue through March 22, 2026 at the Lyric Theatre. This milestone marks the first time a cast member from the original Harry Potter film series has joined the stage adaptation of Cursed Child, thrilling longtime fans of the franchise.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child picks up 19 years after the events of the final novel, following Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Draco as adults navigating life—and parenthood—while sending their own children off to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Tom Felton expressed excitement and deep emotion about returning to the role that made him a household name.

“Being a part of the Harry Potter films has been one of the greatest honors of my life,” he said. “Joining this production will be a full-circle moment for me, because when I begin performances in Cursed Child this fall, I’ll also be the exact age Draco is in the play. It’s surreal to be stepping back into his shoes – and of course his iconic platinum blond hair – and I am thrilled to be able to see his story through and to share it with the greatest fan community in the world.”

The production’s producers Sonia Friedman and Colin Callender also shared their enthusiasm for Tom Felton’s casting, calling it a “once-in-a-lifetime” event for Wizarding World fans.

“As fans of the wizarding world ourselves, we feel incredibly fortunate to welcome Tom into our Cursed Child family on Broadway,” they said. “This moment is powerful on many levels—Tom will be making his Broadway debut and is marking a full-circle moment for not just himself, but for Draco too.”

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child originally debuted in London’s West End before opening on Broadway in 2018. While the show was originally presented in two parts, the post-pandemic version now runs as a single, three-and-a-half-hour production.

With new layers to Draco’s journey—including themes of legacy, redemption, and parenthood—fans will get to see Tom Felton bring a deeper, more mature version of the character to life onstage. For anyone who grew up with the Harry Potter films, this Broadway moment is not to be missed.
