Prime Video announces The Legend of Vox Machina will return for a fifth and final season following an exclusive reveal at San Diego Comic-Con.
The Legend of Vox Machina is preparing for one final roll. During its panel at San Diego Comic-Con, Prime Video officially announced that the beloved animated fantasy series will return for a fifth and final season, bringing the saga of Exandria’s favorite misfits to a close.
Produced by Critical Role, Titmouse, and Amazon MGM Studios, The Legend of Vox Machina has earned both critical acclaim and a passionate global fanbase. The show will also return with Season Four in 2026, continuing the story that began as a wildly successful Kickstarter campaign and blossomed into a groundbreaking streaming hit.
In a first look shown during the SDCC panel, fans were treated to a sneak peek at what’s ahead in the upcoming season. After the explosive events of Season Three — where the Chroma Conclave’s destruction swept through the land and the Cinder King hunted down the team — the stakes are higher than ever. Though Vox Machina ultimately protected their homeland and loved ones, they also faced profound loss.
Season Four will follow the group as they journey across the globe, separated and searching for purpose. But with a devastating new threat looming over Exandria, the crew must come together once again to face their darkest foe yet.
“A huge congratulations to our creative collaborators at Critical Role and Titmouse for bringing the incredible story of The Legend of Vox Machina to life for our global Prime Video customers,” said Melissa Wolfe, Head of Animation at Amazon MGM Studios. “Achieving five seasons is a significant milestone for everyone involved, and we can’t wait for fans to experience what we have planned for the epic fifth and final season.”
Executive producers and Critical Role co-founders Sam Riegel and Travis Willingham added, “It’s so rare for any television series to get to tell a complete story, beginning to end, exactly as it was envisioned. We’re so grateful to our fans, the Critters, our partners at Prime Video, and the original Kickstarter backers for bringing this show to life and turning the numbskulls of Vox Machina into animation legends.”
The voice cast includes Laura Bailey, Taliesin Jaffe, Ashley Johnson, Liam O’Brien, Matthew Mercer, Marisha Ray, Sam Riegel, and Travis Willingham — all founders and cast members of Critical Role. The show is executive produced by the cast along with Brandon Auman, Chris Prynoski, Shannon Prynoski, and Ben Kalina.
Fans can look forward to one last epic campaign when The Legend of Vox Machina returns on Prime Video.
