Netflix officially announces production for The Hunting Wives Season 2 with returning stars, new twists, and an eight-episode release worldwide.
Netflix has officially announced that production has begun on Season 2 of the hit series The Hunting Wives. Filmed in the US, the series will return exclusively as a Netflix-branded show in nearly every country where the streaming service is available.
Fans can look forward to the return of key cast members, including Karen Rodriguez as Deputy Salazar, Hunter Emery as Deputy Flynn, and Branton Box as Sheriff Johnny. Previously announced returning cast also includes Brittany Snow, Malin Akerman, Jaime Ray Newman, Dermot Mulroney, Evan Jonigkeit, and George Ferrier, with additional cast members to be revealed at a later date.
Created, written, and showrun by Rebecca Cutter (Hightown), The Hunting Wives is based on the bestselling novel by May Cobb. The series first debuted on Netflix in the US on July 21, 2025, and quickly became a global hit, spending five weeks in the global English Top 10 TV list and amassing over 20 million views, even though it was initially only available in the US.
Season 2 promises to bring even higher stakes, with the logline teasing: “At the start of Season 2, Sophie and Margo are on the outs. But soon enough, old secrets and new foes force them back together. As they play their dangerous games, the question arises: Are they the hunters or the hunted?” The new season will consist of eight episodes, produced by Lionsgate Television in partnership with 3 Arts Entertainment.
Executive producers include Erwin Stoff for 3 Arts Entertainment and May Cobb. With its mix of suspense, drama, and intricate relationships, The Hunting Wives continues to be a must-watch thriller for Netflix audiences worldwide.
