Netflix thriller The Beast in Me starring Claire Danes and Matthew Rhys debuts November 13 with first teaser and insights from showrunner Howard Gordon.
Netflix has unveiled the official teaser for its upcoming limited series The Beast in Me, confirming that all eight episodes will premiere on November 13, 2025. The psychological thriller stars Claire Danes and Matthew Rhys, backed by an impressive creative team of award-winning talent both in front of and behind the camera.
Showrunner, writer, and executive producer Howard Gordon (Homeland, 24, The X-Files) explained the meaning behind the series title in an exclusive quote shared with Tudum.com:
“The title of the series comes from a Johnny Cash song — but it’s not as simple as it might initially seem. It really is about all of our complicity. Whether it’s Monica Lewinsky or Amanda Knox or Nile Jarvis or whatever, sometimes we are quick to make assumptions. But when we are forced to look at it from another angle, do we have the humility and the compassion to listen and to revise the narrative?”
A dark and gripping story
At the heart of The Beast in Me is acclaimed author Aggie Wiggs (Danes), who has withdrawn from public life following the devastating loss of her young son. Her solitude shatters when the house next door is purchased by Nile Jarvis (Rhys), a high-powered real estate mogul infamous for once being the prime suspect in his wife’s disappearance.
What begins as fear and fascination soon evolves into an obsession, as Aggie chases Jarvis’s secrets while battling her own grief. Their dangerous game of cat and mouse forces her to confront both his demons and hers, setting the stage for a tense and possibly deadly unraveling.
The powerhouse team behind the series
The Beast in Me comes from creator, writer, and executive producer Gabe Rotter (The X-Files), with Gordon leading as showrunner. Claire Danes not only stars but also serves as an executive producer. Antonio Campos (The Staircase) directs and executive produces, joined by Daniel Pearle (American Crime Story), Conan O’Brien, Jeff Ross, and David Kissinger for Conaco, Caroline Baron (Severance), and Jodie Foster.
The cast also features Brittany Snow and Natalie Morales, with guest appearances from Jonathan Banks, David Lyons, Tim Guinee, Hettienne Park, Deidre O’Connell, Aleyse Shannon, Will Brill, Kate Burton, Bill Irwin, Amir Arison, and Julie Ann Emery.
Writing credits include Rotter (episodes 101 & 102), Erika Sheffer (103), C.A. Johnson (104), Pearle (101, 105, 108), Ali Liebegott (106), Mike Skerrett (107), and Gordon (108). The series is produced by 20th Television.
With its chilling premise, celebrated cast, and the creative minds behind some of television’s most gripping dramas, The Beast in Me is shaping up to be one of Netflix’s most anticipated releases this fall.
The Beast in Me premieres November 13, 2025, only on Netflix.
