Odds are many of your favorite hosts started out in different aspects of the entertainment industry! Maybe they were once an actor, comedian, or Youtuber. 

We listed off some hosts you may or may not know started off in different places!

Whoopi Goldberg

Actress extraordinaire, Whoopi Goldberg, is a host with a lengthy entertainment past. Whoopi is part of a select group of people who have an EGOT (won an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar, and a Tony). Originally known for films such as The Color Purple, Whoopi has been a host on the popular daytime talk show The View since 2007.  

David Dobrik

This Youtuber turned game show host has been quite the hot topic the past few years! David Dobrik now hosts Dodgeball Thunderdome, a Discovery Channel show where contestants compete for $25,000 in cash. The show has been described as a blend of Wipeout and the traditional dodgeball game!

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson

What can’t Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson do? This footballer turned professional wrestler turned actor is also the host of NBC’s The Titan Games! This show first aired in 2019 and calls contestants to push themselves to their body’s limits. They battle it out against actual Titans on the show’s “Mount Olympus” for the opportunity to become victorious!

Tamera Mowry

Starting off on the hit show Sister, Sister, twin sisters Tia and Tamera would both make names for themselves in the industry. Tamera was a host on The Real for seven years before announcing her departure just this year.  

Kevin Hart

Legendary comedian, Kevin Hart, has a few tricks up his sleeve! You probably know Hart from his countless number of films and stand up specials. However, did you know he hosts his own game show on NBC? Celebrity Game Face challenges celebrity couple’s in rounds of trivia and physical challenges! The show premiered this past July and has been remote!
