Netflix’s Squid Game returns with its third and final season as global celebrations, fan events, and cast appearances mark its epic premiere.
Squid Game Season 3, the third and final installment of Netflix’s global hit series, is now streaming. As the high-stakes drama reaches its conclusion, fans across the world are joining in on the celebration, from pink carpets to immersive fan events.
Directed, written, and executive produced by Hwang Dong-hyuk, Squid Game has captivated audiences since its groundbreaking debut. In honor of Season 3’s premiere, Netflix hosted a special pink carpet screening at New York’s Paris Theater on June 18. Addressing a packed theater of fans and guests, Hwang said, “I heard a lot of people got mad at me after Season 2 came out because [it] ended in such a cliffhanger, so I did my best to bring Season 3 of the work as soon as possible and here we are… the entire season will come out in about 9 days. And I promise it’s not going to let you down.”
The event welcomed cast and producers including Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Yim Si-wan, Jo Yu-ri, Park Sung-hoon, Kang Ae-sim, Kim Ji-yeon, and Hwang himself.
To further immerse fans in the action, Netflix transformed Brooklyn’s Domino Park into a Squid Game-themed arena on June 20. Activities included real-life versions of fan-favorite games like Mingle and Pentathlon, plus a sneak peek at a new one — Jump Rope. In a surprise moment, Lee Byung-hun and Director Hwang appeared on-site, with Hwang gifting one lucky fan the exclusive KAWS x Squid Game Young-Hee figurine.
Earlier in the month, Seoul hosted a major press conference and fan event on June 9. Director Hwang reflected on the six-year journey behind the series, while stars like Kang Ha-neul, Wi Ha-jun, Park Gyu-young, Lee Jin-uk, Yang Dong-geun, Chae Kook-hee, Lee David, Roh Jae-won, and many more previewed the deeper, darker themes of Season 3. Later that day, 456 fans participated in exclusive cast meet-and-greets, watched highlight reels from Seasons 1 and 2, and discussed theories for the finale.
As the Pink Guards make their final rounds, Squid Game: Unleashed is also marking the occasion with new characters, games, and rewards to match the intensity of the new season.
