Scriptwriter Spotlight: Cord Jefferson of ‘Watchmen’, ‘Master of None’, & More!

This week we’re highlighting scriptwriter, Cord Jefferson, for his amazing work and recent Warner Bros. deal!

Emmy winner and scriptwriter, Cord Jefferson, has certainly made his mark in the entertainment industry during recent years.

Jefferson is best known for his work on series such as Master of None, The Good Place, and Watchmen. His writing can be comedic, witty, dramatic, and everything in between.

2020 has proved to be Jefferson’s year in terms of recognition. He won the Emmy for “Outstanding Writing for a Limited Series, Movie or Dramatic Special” on his Watchmen episode titled “This Extraordinary Being”. The episode was co-written with Damon Lindelof, another well-accredited scriptwriter.

If you aren’t familiar with Jefferson, or any of the shows he’s written for (which we highly doubt), you may be familiar with his Emmy acceptance speech. That’s right, he made headlines for his amazing speech. While accepting his award, Jefferson thanked his therapist and credited therapy to his new self. He even stated that “therapy should be free in this country.” We totally agree.

In most recent news, the writer has made headlines for striking up a deal with Warner Brothers Television Group. This deal will have Jefferson developing and producing original content for HBO. If this means more amazing episodes and content from the writer, we are in!

Jefferson has also written for publications such as National Geographic, USA Today, and more. We’re excited for good things to come from him!
