In Season 2 Episode 7 of Shrill, Annie came to terms with who she is as a person. Gabe invited her to an intellectual salon where she met Sheila, a person who believes in Annie and loves her writing! Ryan accompanied Annie to the party, but he wasn’t having any of it. Instead, Ryan insisted they needed to leave quickly to get to “more important” matters: Burger League. This came to a head when Ryan made the executive decision and called a Lyft, pushing Annie to leave the party before she was ready. Also, Annie realizes that Ryan has told people in distribution at their job that they’ve slept together at work.
