Ruth & Boaz Trailer Debuts Ahead Of Netflix Release

Ruth & Boaz trailer debuts as Tyler Perry and DeVon Franklin share first look at their modern reimagining of the classic love story for Netflix.

Netflix has released the official trailer, key art, and a new image for Ruth & Boaz, the upcoming romantic drama from producers Tyler Perry and DeVon Franklin. The film, a modern-day reimagining of the timeless love story, will premiere globally on the streamer on Friday, September 26, 2025.

“I’m thrilled to kick off my partnership with DeVon Franklin with Ruth & Boaz. The trailer is finally here, and I couldn’t be more excited for the world to get this first look at such a powerful love story,” Perry told TUDUM.com, adding, “I can’t wait for audiences everywhere to experience the film when it arrives.”

Franklin echoed that excitement, calling the project deeply personal. “This love story has been a true labor of love, and I’m grateful to finally share this first look with the world. This classic story has held such deep meaning for me and so many others for generations. I’m beyond excited for audiences to see the trailer and to experience this film on Netflix when it’s released.”

Directed by Alanna Brown and written by Michael Elliot and Cory Tynan, Ruth & Boaz follows Serayah as Ruth Moably, a rising Atlanta hip-hop artist who steps away from fame after a personal tragedy. She relocates to rural Tennessee to care for her late boyfriend’s mother, played by Phylicia Rashad, and in the process discovers new purpose and unexpected love with vineyard owner Boaz, played by Tyler Lepley.

The cast also includes Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds, Gregalan Williams, Nijah Brenea, Walnette Santiago, James Thomas, Christopher Broughton, Jermaine Dupri, and Chaundre Hall-Broomfield. The film also features an original song by Babyface, performed by Serayah.

Alongside Perry and Franklin, Ruth & Boaz is produced by both men, with executive producers Bart Lipton, Tony L. Strickland, and Angi Bones.

With themes of faith, healing, and second chances, the story reimagines a beloved classic for a new generation. Fans can now add Ruth & Boaz to their Netflix “My List” and watch the newly released trailer before the film arrives this fall.
