Premieres For The Week Of January 10th, 2021

This new year is continuing to bring us amazing shows to enjoy! Here is everything coming out this upcoming week. 

Sunday, January 10th

American Gods

The third season of the hit Starz show premieres! This season will follow Shadow Moon as he moves to Lakeside, Wisconsin, under a new name to hide from the New Gods. Ricky Whittle, Emily Browning, Yetide Badaki, Bruce Langley, Omid Abtahi, Demore Barnes, and Ian McShane are all returning, plus Ashley Reyes will be joining the cast. The season will be 10 episodes long, and new episodes will air every Sunday at 8 pm ET on Starz.

Tiger

The new documentary from HBO premieres. In it will be never-before-seen footage and revealing interviews with those who know the golfer best, including his former caddy and close friend, Steve Williams; golf legend and six-time major champion Sir Nick Faldo; Earl Woods’ friend and biographer, Pete McDaniel; Tiger’s first true love, Dina Parr; as well as Rachel Uchitel, the woman at the center of the sex scandal that forever altered Tiger’s world, breaking her silence with her first-ever sit-down interview about their relationship. The documentary will be 2 parts will the first part airing this Sunday and the second airing on the 17th at 9 pm ET on HBO.

Monday, January 11th

Straight Up Steve Austin

The second season of the unconventional interview show premieres. In the series, Steve Austin and a celebrity guest visit different cities across America to take part in one-of-a-kind adventures while swapping stories about their lives and careers. It’s not your typical talk show, as there is no studio, no couch, and no cue cards. The second season will be 8 episodes long, with new ones airing every Monday at 11 pm ET on USA.

Ty Breaker

The newest show from HGTV sees carpenter, craftsman, and designer Ty Pennington, who will help conflicted homeowners decide whether to overhaul their current home or renovate a different property. Each of the episodes will feature one of HGTV’s savvy design experts: Alison Victoria (Windy City Rehab), Grace Mitchell (One of a Kind), or Sabrina Soto (The High Low Project). Much like fellow HGTV show Love It Or List It, the designer will try to persuade the family to let her create a beautifully customized new place. Meanwhile, Ty, who spends quality time with each family to find out about their property’s problem areas, will strive for clients to stay put and enjoy a whole-home renovation.

Weakest Link

The reboot of the popular BBC and NBC show premieres! Jane Lynch will host the reboot as contestants battle it out to not be the weak link. New episodes will air every Monday at 10 pm ET on NBC.

Tuesday, January 12th

Prodigal Son

Season 2 of the FOX serial killer thriller premieres. This season will dive head-first into the arc of Malcolm’s sister. The main question on everyone’s mind is if the siblings are more alike than previously expected. New episodes will air every Tuesday at 9 pm ET on FOX.

The Resident

Season 4 of the medical drama premieres! The new season will continue to shine a light on the daily heroism of today’s healthcare workers. We will pick up right as Dr. Hawkins and nurse Nevin tie the knot. We will get to see Chastain transition from a private to a public hospital, which will cause the doctors to fight to fix the broken machine from the inside. Dr. Bell will go into his past to find his estranged former stepson, elite plastic surgeon Dr. Jake Wong. Bell attempts to bring Dr. Wong to Chastain to increase the number of world-class surgeries at the hospital and to repair their complicated past. Additionally, Dr. Okafor and her mentor, Dr. Austin, will try to navigate a professional relationship within the walls of the hospital. New episodes will air every Tuesday at 8 pm ET on FOX.

Trickster

The new drama from The CW premieres. It’s based on the best-selling novel “Son of a Trickster” by Eden Robinson and follows Jared, an Indigenous teen struggling to keep his dysfunctional family above water when he starts seeing strange things like talking ravens, doppelgängers, and skin monsters. His already chaotic life is turned upside down. The season will last 6 episodes, with new episodes that will air every Tuesday at 9 pm ET on The CW.

Two Sentence Horror Stories

The horror tale snippets are back for a second season. Each week the anthology series brings new original bite-size tales of horror and dismay that taps into universal primal fears while tackling provocative social issues that exist within our modern society. The series will air 2 episodes back to back every week at 8 pm & 8:30 pm ET on The CW.

Unpolished

The salon reality show returns for its second season! This season will see the sisters handle the pandemic that arrived earlier this year. Plus, they will be dealing with the tragic and unexpected passing of their father and biggest supporter, Big Mike. Mother and administrative lead at the salon, Jennifer, is forced to step up to help make ends meet, taking control of the family’s obligations. Despite all the personal and financial turmoil, and to Lexi’s dismay, Bria and her fiancé Matt are still planning to have their wedding as the extravagant affair she and her father dreamed of, but coronavirus restrictions get in the way. Once the green light is given to safely resume services while adhering to health and safety guidelines though, the sisters will need to head back to work and navigate the new operations. New episodes air every Tuesday at 10 pm ET on TLC.

Wednesday, January 13th

Call Your Mother

The comedy from ABC premieres. Jean, an empty-nester mom, wonders how she ended up alone while her children live their best lives thousands of miles away. She decides her place is with her family, and as she reinserts herself into their lives, her kids realize they might actually need her more than they thought. New episodes will air every Wednesday at 9:30 pm ET on ABC.

Everyone Is Doing Great

The newest Hulu sitcom, which explores life after fame, premieres. Jeremy and Seth starred in Eternal, a dark yet emotional teen TV drama that earned them fame and wealth. Their onscreen co-stars also become their love interests offscreen. Jeremy married Andrea, but things didn’t work out as well for Seth and Isabella. Since then, five years have passed, the show has wrapped, and both Seth and Jeremy are kind of lost. Seth is trying to maintain a positive attitude, prepping hard for the auditions he’s able to get and stay in camera-ready shape. Jeremy doesn’t have to hustle quite as hard since Andrea has gone on to star in another show, so he fills his days with weed, half-assed workouts, online Spanish lessons, and flirtations with hot fans on social media. He and Seth are still famous enough to get recognized on the street, but neither of them thinks this is what life would be like at age 30. The season will be 8 episodes, all of which will be available on Hulu.

Married At First Sight

The hit marriage show is back! This time we will head to Atlanta for season 12. This season is set to be the most romantic, diverse, and surprising season yet, as ten singles meet their new spouse at the altar and enter a legally binding marriage at first sight. With one groom pushing forty and another who has been divorced (both MAFS firsts), new insights are brought to a journey that is always full of high stakes. As the season progresses, the couples will have to decide if they have found their true love or just entered into a terrible mistake. The premiere will be three hours, with new episodes airing every Wednesday at 8 pm ET on Lifetime.

Night Stalker: The Hunt For A Serial Killer

Netflix debuts its true crime documentary. The series explores the real story of Richard Ramirez, a serial killer who committed multiple murders in San Francisco and Los Angeles, California, between 1984 and 1985. It uses interviews with investigators and survivors, plus archival footage, to tell the story of one of the most notorious and terrifying serial killers of the 20th century. It is described by Netflix as an “iconic L.A. real-life horror story.” The entire limited series will be available on Wednesday, January 13th, on Netflix.

Thursday, January 14th

Search Party

HBO premieres the 4th season of the comedy series. Dory, after being found innocent, is now kidnapped by her stalker. Her friends must figure out that she’s not really touring Europe and then set out to find and save her. This season will have guest appearances from Susan Sarandon, Busy Philipps, and Ann Dowd, as well as a cameo from Goosebumps author R.L. Stine. The season will be 10 episodes long, with new ones airing every Thursday at 3:01 am ET on HBO Max.

UFO Witness

Ben Hansen is on a mission to uncover the truth behind UFO sightings across America. With unprecedented access to the archives of famed ufologist Dr. J. Allen Hynek, Ben unlocks the secrets of the past to shed light on today’s UFO encounters. The season will be 8 episodes long and will drop 3 episodes on the first week, with one dropping every week after at 3:01 am ET on Discovery+.

Friday, January 15th

Belle Collective

The new series from OWN centers on the personal and professional lives of 5 successful boss women who are redefining what it means to be a southern belle in Jackson, Mississippi. They represent Mississippi’s finest Black female entrepreneurs, determined to break ceilings while shredding long-held stereotypes of the South. They must set aside their differences to redevelop a struggling mid-twentieth-century historic district that was once known as the hub for Black-owned businesses. New episodes will air every Friday at 10 pm ET on OWN.

Bling Empire

The new reality series follows LA’s wildly wealthy Asian and Asian American fun seekers as they go all out with fabulous parties, glamour and drama. The entire 1st season will be available on Netflix.

Disenchantment

The 3rd season of the hit Netflix animated show premieres. The series was developed by The Simpsons and Futurama creator Matt Groening and follows Bean as she exasperates the king and wreaks havoc with her demon and elf pals. The 3rd season will see Bean continue to grow into her power and own her destiny. As the fearless friends venture out to discover new worlds, they might just find there really is no place like home. The entire season will be available on Netflix.

Endlings

The second season of the sci-fi comedy arrives on Hulu. The series is set 20 years in the future and follows four teenagers in foster care who discover they’re not alone in the universe. Halfway across the world, Tuko is the last elephant in existence (what biologists call an endling). Her endling status summons to Earth, a mysterious Alien who is on an intergalactic quest to save the last member of near-extinct species. After Tuko is collected, the Alien’s ship malfunctions and sends it on a crash course with the farm where the teens live with their foster dad, Mr. Leopold. Before crashing, the Alien releases all of its cosmic collection into the fields and wilderness surrounding the property. This kicks off a high-action life-altering mission to retrieve these fantastical creatures before the local police, Tuko’s caretaker, or a secretive industrialist can. Not much is known about the second season as the creators have kept it under wraps. The season will be 12 episodes, and all will be available on Hulu.

Framed By The Killer

From Executive Producer Ice-T, this limited series unravels tales of elaborate whodunnit murder mysteries that lead police to one suspect, only to discover later their suspect was framed by the actual killer.  Each episode will explore a different unique case. New episodes will be available every Friday at 9 pm ET on Oxygen.

Servant

The M. Night Shyamalan thriller is back for its second season. The new season will take a supernatural turn as Leanne returns to the brownstone and her true nature is revealed; a darker future for all lies ahead. The season will be 10 episodes, and new episodes will be available every Friday at 12:01 am ET on Apple TV+.

An Unexpected Killer

The second season of the true crime series premieres. Each episode will dive into a new case which, while at first seems to be one way, turns out to twist in a new, unexpected direction. New episodes will be available every Friday at 8 pm ET on Oxygen.

Wandavision

The newest Marvel tv series premieres! Wanda Maximoff and Vision are two super-powered beings living idealized suburban lives but begin to suspect everything is not as it seems. The series stars Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Kathryn Hahn, Teyonah Parris, Kat Dennings, and Randall Park. There will be 6 episodes, with a new episode airing every Friday at 3:01 am ET on Disney+.

Saturday, January 16th

One Deadly Mistake

The new true crime thriller premieres. Each episode follows a homicide investigation where police work tirelessly against the clock to solve a complex case until they discover a piece of evidence left behind that exposes the identity of the calculated killer. New episodes will be available every Saturday at 9 pm ET on Oxygen.
