Peacock has unveiled the first teaser and December 27 premiere date for The Copenhagen Test, an espionage thriller starring Simu Liu and Melissa Barrera from James Wan’s Atomic Monster.
Peacock is diving into high-stakes espionage this winter with its new thriller series The Copenhagen Test. The streamer unveiled the official teaser and announced the series’ premiere date during its New York Comic Con presentation, confirming that the show will debut December 27, 2025, exclusively on Peacock.
From James Wan’s Atomic Monster and UCP, The Copenhagen Test stars and is executive produced by Simu Liu (Barbie, Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) alongside Melissa Barrera (In the Heights, Scream V and VI). The series promises an intense mix of technology-driven intrigue, psychological manipulation, and nonstop suspense.
Described as an espionage thriller, the series follows first-generation Chinese-American intelligence analyst Alexander Hale (Liu), who makes a shocking discovery — his brain has been hacked. The mysterious breach gives unknown perpetrators access to everything he sees and hears, forcing him to live under constant surveillance. Trapped between his secretive intelligence agency and the invisible hackers manipulating his every move, Hale must maintain a flawless performance 24/7 to uncover who’s behind the attack and prove where his loyalty truly lies.
Joining Liu and Barrera in the cast are Sinclair Daniel (The Other Black Girl, Insidious: The Red Door) as Parker, Brian D’Arcy James (Spotlight, 13 Reasons Why) as Peter Moira, Mark O’Brien (City on a Hill, Ready or Not) as Cobb, and Kathleen Chalfant (Wit, The Affair) as St. George.
The Copenhagen Test was created by Thomas Brandon (Legacies), who serves as co-showrunner, writer, and executive producer alongside Jennifer Yale (See, Outlander). In addition to Liu, executive producers include James Wan, Michael Clear, and Rob Hackett for Atomic Monster, as well as Mark Winemaker and Jet Wilkinson, who directs the first two episodes. The series is produced by UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group.
Following its New York Comic Con debut, Peacock also released new teaser footage, key art, and first-look images, offering a glimpse into the world of digital deception and trust tested to the limit.
The Copenhagen Test premieres December 27, 2025, only on Peacock.
