NFL Christmas Gameday will return on Netflix with a new lineup of booth talent in Washington, D.C. and Minneapolis after record-breaking 2024 viewership.
The holiday football tradition is back. NFL Christmas Gameday is returning to Netflix this December with a fresh lineup of booth talent for two highly anticipated matchups, one in Washington, D.C. and the other in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
For the Dallas Cowboys vs. Washington Commanders game, airing live at 1 p.m. ET from Northwest Stadium in Landover, Maryland, fans will hear from Ian Eagle (CBS Sports, Amazon Prime Video) on play-by-play, joined by analysts Nate Burleson (former wide receiver, analyst on The NFL Today and CBS Mornings co-host) and Matt Ryan (former NFL quarterback, CBS Sports).
Later in the day, coverage shifts to Minneapolis as the Detroit Lions take on the Minnesota Vikings at 4:30 p.m. ET from U.S. Bank Stadium. Noah Eagle (NBC Sports) will handle play-by-play, with Drew Brees, the former Super Bowl-winning quarterback, in the analyst’s chair.
Building On Record-Breaking Numbers
Last year, Netflix’s NFL Christmas Gameday 2024 reached 65 million U.S. viewers, according to Nielsen, making it one of the most-watched football events in streaming history. The two Christmas Day games averaged over 26.5 million viewers domestically and more than 30 million globally, highlighted by Beyoncé’s show-stopping halftime performance.
With that momentum, Netflix is looking to keep the holiday tradition alive and grow its reach even further this year.
Global Access And Holiday Traditions
The Christmas Day games will stream globally on Netflix in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, and German, giving fans across the world access to the matchups.
In the U.S., the NFL’s longstanding tradition continues: CBS affiliates in the competing team cities will also air the games, while fans can stream them on mobile devices through NFL+. CBS Sports will produce the live game broadcasts, with NFL Media overseeing pre-game, post-game, and halftime programming. EverWonder Studio returns as executive producer of NFL Christmas Gameday.
As anticipation builds, Netflix is proving that the mix of streaming and live sports is here to stay — and holiday football is once again at the center of the celebration.
