Set in the 19th century, House of Guinness explores the legacy of one of Europe’s most enduring dynasties. The story begins immediately following the death of Sir Benjamin Guinness, the man credited with transforming the Guinness brewery into a global phenomenon. His passing sets into motion a high-stakes battle over his extraordinary will, shaping the future of his four children—Arthur, Edward, Anne, and Ben—as well as the lives of Dubliners tied to the iconic family.

The series comes from production companies Kudos and Nebulastar, with Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight serving as writer and creator. Knight also joins Karen Wilson, Elinor Day, Martin Haines, Tom Shankland, and Ivana Lowell as executive producers. Cahal Bannon serves as series producer, with Howard Burch as producer. Directing duties are split between Tom Shankland for the first block and Mounia Akl for the second.

The cast features a strong lineup of rising stars and acclaimed talent. Anthony Boyle (Masters of the Air, Manhunt) leads as Arthur Guinness, alongside Louis Partridge (Disclaimer, Enola Holmes) as Edward Guinness, Emily Fairn (The Responder, Saturday Night) as Anne Plunket, and Fionn O’Shea (Normal People, Dance First) as Benjamin Guinness.

The ensemble also includes James Norton (Happy Valley, Bob Marley: One Love), Dervla Kirwan (True Detective: Night Country), Jack Gleeson (Game of Thrones), Niamh McCormack (Everything Now), Danielle Galligan (Shadow and Bone), Ann Skelly (The Nevers), Seamus O’Hara (Blue Lights), Michael McElhatton (Game of Thrones), David Wilmot (Station Eleven), Michael Colgan (Say Nothing), Jessica Reynolds (Kneecap), Hilda Fay (The Woman In The Wall), and Elizabeth Daulau (Andor).

Kudos, part of Banijay UK, produces the series. Known for innovative, award-winning dramas, the company’s recent productions include This Town (BBC One), SAS Rogue Heroes (BBC One), Deadwater Fell (Channel 4, now on Netflix), Grantchester (ITV), Then You Run (Sky), and Responsible Child (BBC Two). Kudos is currently led by joint managing directors Karen Wilson and Martin Haines.

With an epic story rooted in family conflict, ambition, and legacy, House of Guinness promises to bring the world of one of history’s most famous brewing dynasties to life when it premieres September 25 on Netflix.
