Miss Piggy is finally getting her own movie as Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Stone team up to produce new film with Cole Escola writing the script.
After decades of stealing scenes and hogging the spotlight in the best way possible, Miss Piggy is officially getting her very own movie. More than 50 years after her debut, the beloved Muppet icon is heading to the big screen in her first solo film, with major star power behind the project.
During an appearance on the Las Culturistas podcast, Jennifer Lawrence revealed that she and Emma Stone are producing a Miss Piggy-led movie. The script is being written by Cole Escola, the creative mind behind Oh, Mary!, marking a fresh and comedic approach to the glamorous diva pig’s long-awaited standalone story.
Lawrence admitted she might have jumped the gun on the announcement, saying, “I don’t know if I can announce this, but I’m just going to. Emma Stone and I are producing a Miss Piggy movie and Cole is writing it.”

This marks a major milestone for Miss Piggy, who first appeared on The Muppet Show in 1976, created by the legendary Jim Henson. While she has starred in numerous ensemble projects like The Muppet Movie (1979), this will be her first time leading a film entirely on her own.
The movie is still in development, with no plot details or casting announcements yet revealed, but the involvement of two Oscar-winning actresses as producers and Escola’s sharp comedic voice has already sparked major excitement among Muppet fans and Hollywood alike.
After decades of karate chops, love declarations to Kermit, and iconic fashion moments, it’s finally Miss Piggy’s turn in the spotlight — and she’s taking center stage in true diva style.
