Megan Thee Stallion Named GQ’s Rapper of the Year

On the cover of GQ’s 25th annual Men of the Year Issue is Megan Thee Stallion, named their rapper of the year.

This comes after Lil Nas X was named their 2019 Rapper of the Year.

Throughout her career she has been all about female empowerment, which is why she calls herself Hot Girl Meg and her fans hotties! She wants to continue to inspire them to be themselves.

In the magazine she opens up about her shooting and how she wants black women to be louder.

“I want [Black women] to be sassier. I want us to demand more, be more outspoken, keep speaking and just keep demanding what you deserve,” Megan Thee Stallion said.

She also spoke somberly about the night she was shot on her way home from a pool party. She tried to leave the car and get home another way, after having a gut feeling about it. Another rapper, Tory Lanez, shot her in the foot. Megan recounts the night to GQ saying, “I barely even said anything to the man who shot me when I was walking away. We were literally like five minutes away from the house.”

Her friends and fans celebrated her GQ cover by congratulating her!

Her new album, Good News, comes out on Friday! The album comes after her hit song, “WAP,” with Cardi B this summer.
