Netflix has announced the release of Masaka Kids: A Rhythm Within, a powerful new documentary film set to premiere on December 9, 2025. Directed by David Vieira Lopez alongside Academy Award-nominee Moses Bwayo, known for Bobi Wine: The People’s President, the film dives deep into the heart of Uganda’s Masaka region.
The documentary follows Masaka Kids Africana, a small orphanage that has emerged as a beacon of hope amidst the lingering shadows of the HIV/AIDS crisis. Beyond viral videos, viewers are invited into a vibrant community where orphaned children transform hardship into joy, dancing their way toward healing, belonging, and the promise of a brighter future.
Produced by Ross M. Dinerstein, Rebecca Evans, David Vieira Lopez, Geeta Gandbhir, and Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, along with Chanel Pysnik, the film brings together a team dedicated to telling stories that resonate globally.
