‘Loki’ Trailer Reaction Roundup

The Latest Loki Trailer just dropped and fans are going crazy for this wild MCU adventure.

As the wildly popular Falcon and The Winter Soldier begins to wrap up its six-episode run on Disney +, Marvel is already giving fans something new to talk about by dropping the trailer for their latest series Loki. Coming out on June 11th (fitting since Loki is one of fiction’s most famous Geminis), Loki follows the eponymous trickster God after the events of Avengers: Endgame wherein he stole the highly valuable tesseract. By doing so, Loki not only created an alternate timeline, but also tore apart the fabric of time itself. Thus, he is arrested by the mysterious Time Variance Authority (TVA) organization and their Time Keepers who force Loki to remedy his mistakes. Big stars like Owen Wilson and Gugu Mbatha-Raw will join the cast as timekeepers respectively as they help Loki jump through different historical events. Any die-hard fans of Loki will know that the schemer probably won’t spend long working with the shady corporation, but they’re going to have to watch to find out where Loki’s journey takes him next.

Loki has been one of Marvel’s most popular and enduring characters since his first appearance in 2011’s Thor. Despite being a villainous outcast, fans found his dry wit and Tom Hiddleston’s charming performance endearing which was probably what led to him being the main villain in 2012’s The Avengers. In later films, the bond between Thor and Loki as brothers quickly became the heart of the MCU leading to Loki’s heartbreaking death in Avengers: Infinity War at the hands of Thanos. Now that Loki is back for good, fans have taken to social media to express their excitement.

Eagled eyed viewers also noticed the parallels to earlier Thor films in the Loki trailer, showing how different yet similar this alternate timeline version of the character is. We can also expect to see Loki flex his fighting skills again.

While WandaVision and Falcon and the Winter Soldier kept things more on the serious side, everything we’ve seen from Loki can hint towards a more comedic vibe. After all, the most popular Thor franchise entry, Thor: Ragnarok is considered one of the funniest movies in the MCU. Fans have already spotted several laugh out loud moments in the trailer.

One of the most exciting aspects of Loki (that audiences caught onto right away) was the expansion of the multiverse. WandaVision made work of establishing other universes in the vast galaxy above Earth. Throughout the series, Wanda breaks down the walls between different realities on several occasions in order to set up the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Spider-Man: No Way Home. There are already rumors flying that the next Spider-Man film will use the multiverse in order to bring back heroes and villains from previous movies.

It is clear that the Loki series is going in the same direction since Loki’s tampering with the tesseract created multiple realities. At one point in the trailer, the amount of universes Loki created with his trickery is outright shown on a monitor. This gives viewers just a small idea of the amount of work Loki is going to have to put in in order to earn his freedom.

As we all wait with baited breath for June 11th, there’s plenty of Marvel related content to keep you busy until then. Falcon and the Winter Soldier still has three more action packed episodes to air while WandaVision is just waiting for a rewatch to catch all the details you didn’t before. There is also the upcoming What If…? animated series which explores what would happen if major moments from the MCU occurred differently. If you can keep yourself occupied with the extensive library Disney+ has to offer, Loki will hit your screens in no time!
