“I see people in public and they’ll come up and say hi, and that’s one of my favorite parts about being an actor, actually interacting with people and seeing the impact you have on their lives. People will say that the show helped them get through depression and dark times. To have that impact on somebody means so much to me, and the rest of the cast and crew talk about it all the time.” Said Allen.

During season 1, fans were introduced to Kyle as the happy-go-lucky teenage son of Maddie Townsend (JoAnna Garcia Swisher). This season, however, took somewhat of a different approach and showed a darker side to Kyle for the first couple of episodes.

“Kyle goes through so much, it’s almost to the point where he’s not likable… it was really fun to dive into a darker side of this character because I don’t get that many opportunities to dive into that type of emotion.” Explained Allen. “Even though I did a whole season with Kyle in season 1, I got to dive back into the character and explore him even more in season 2 and that right there shows how good the writers are… Even after the characters can be a little iffy and you might not like them as much, they’re still likable and relatable in some way.”

Along with JoAnna Garcia Swisher, Sweet Magnolias has an ensemble cast including Chris Klein, Heather Headley, and Brooke Elliot. When it comes to the cast Allen couldn’t be happier to work with a more talented group of people.

“I’m a huge fan of Chris Klein, JoAnna, Heather and so many other people in the cast. And being able to get to know them was very surreal. I remember watching JoAnna on Reba when I was younger, and now I’m seeing her in person and getting to know her. She’s such a great friend and being able to have a relationship with her it’s surreal.” Said Allen.

Not only does Logan get to work with some amazing actors, but he also gets to be a part of and witness some jaw-dropping storylines thanks to the writers and showrunner Sheryl J. Anderson. The last 2 episodes caught many people off guard including the cast and left many people wanting more.

“Neither I nor the cast knew what was coming. They don’t tell us anything. I remember sitting down and doing a table read, and after reading those last two episodes with the cast we were surprised… I think the ending in season 2 is the perfect segway into season 3” Explained Kyle. “I feel like we have so much more to explore. I was talking with Cheryl and she has like 5 seasons planned.”

With season 2 officially in the books, many fans are now wondering what’s going to happen next season. While Netflix hasn’t officially announced a third season, Logan is hopeful, and can’t wait to see what’s in store for Kyle and the rest of the characters.

“I think relationships are going to be fun to dive into, not just for Kyle but for Tyler (Carson Rowland) and Annie (Anneliese Judge) as well. I also think it will be interesting to see what goes on with the relationships with the main three ladies. With the big things that happened at the end of season 2, it’s going to cause some chaos so I’m excited to see what happens there.”

Sweet Magnolias isn’t the only project that Logan has been working on. He’s also going to be in the upcoming fourth season of Stranger Things.

“I’m in the new season of Stranger Things. I’m not a big character in the show, but I play a bully. It’s something different from Kyle… I got to work with the Duffer brothers, Millie Bobby Brown, and some great other people. I’m so excited for everybody to watch it and to see a different side of me and to see me play a different character. I’m going to be hated, people are going to hate me, but I’m excited to see it. I’m in a couple of episodes and it’s a fun ride.” Said Allen.
