Lindsay Lohan’s Career Over The Past Decade!

With Netflix’s Falling for Christmas release coming up, we wanted to catch you up on everything Lindsay Lohan has been up to until leading to this major comeback!

Lindsay’s career is defined by a series of reinventions and she is no stranger to the spotlight. Although Lindsay Lohan has been working below the radar for some time, she was once impossible to forget: Following the success of Mean Girls, the star gained popularity as an actress, singer, spokesmodel, and personality. After a few mishaps along her journey, Lindsay managed to create a solid career path over the past decade leading to her three-project deal that was signed with Netflix in March of 2022. The Film that’s being released on November 1o, is called Falling For Christmas, in which Lohan portrays an heiress who is engaged and obscenely spoiled, but after she suffers a skiing accident, she loses all memory of her earlier life and falls in love with the owner of a ski resort. 

Let’s take a look back at Lindsay’s career over the past decade leading up to this Netflix deal.

Film & Television: 

Prior to hosting the program for the fourth time in March 2012, Lohan had not appeared on Saturday Night Live since 2006.

She then appeared in the biographical made-for-TV film Liz & Dick, which debuted on the Lifetime cable channel in November 2012, in which she played Elizabeth Taylor. Followed by the horror-comedy Scary Movie 5 which was released in April 2013, where Lohan and Charlie Sheen both play themselves in the opening skit.

On Oprah Winfrey’s OWN cable network in March and April 2014, the eight-part docuseries Lindsay aired. In the documentary, after exiting rehab, Lohan traveled to New York City, and the series followed her career and personal life there.

In October 2016, Lohan launched her first nightclub, Lohan Nightclub, in Athens, Greece, in partnership with Dennis Papageorgiou. She later opened a beach resort in May 2018 on the Greek island of Mykonos which was promoted through her own MTV reality series: Lindsay Lohan’s Beach Club, which focused on the Mykonos Beach House and her business ventures on the island.

Lohan was also revealed as one of the panelists for the Australian season of The Masked Singer in July 2019. The reality singing competition series debuted in September 2019 and ended in October of the same year.

Music

Lohan re-signed with Casablanca Records to release new music in June 2019. Lohan stated on April 1, 2020, that she would release “Back to Me,” her first single in twelve years. On April 3, the song was released and received positive reviews from critics. In March 2021, Lohan used the Tron cryptocurrency to auction off a song named “Lullaby” for $85,484.

The Comeback 

Netflix announced in May 2021 that Lohan would star in Falling for Christmas, a holiday romantic comedy. Filming began in November 2021 in Utah, with Janeen Damian directing and co-writing the picture and the release is scheduled for November 1o of this year. It was revealed in March 2022 that Netflix and Lohan would continue to collaborate through a new partnership in which she will star in two additional films. As part of their picture deal, Netflix has now also revealed that Lohan will star in another romantic comedy titled Irish Wish which is predicted to be released at some point in 2023.

Lindsay also became the narrator for Amazon Prime Video’s reality dating show Lovestruck High in May 2022.
