Waiting for the season 3 premiere of Atlanta? Wondering what the cast members have been up to for the past 4 years? Keep reading to find out!

Season 2 of Atlanta premiered in 2018, so fans of the show have been awaiting the new season for quite a while! In addition to preparing for the third season, the actors have been keeping busy on other things. Whether it’s working on various TV or film content or making big moves in their personal life, the Atlanta cast members have been up to a lot!

Donald Glover (A.K.A. Childish Gambino)

The actor of main character Ernest (or “Earn”) is also a main writer and producer for Atlanta, so he’s been busy being involved in all parts of production for the series. Furthermore, in a recent article from The Hollywood Reporter Glover shared that the series will be ending after a fourth season. His Instagram posts from this past year show that he has been having fun behind the scenes of Atlanta in the writer’s room and hanging out with castmates. Love to see it!

In 2019, Glover wrote the screenplay, wrote the featured song, and starred in the musical Guava Island. He plays opposite Rihanna in this artistic hour-long story.

Glover also voiced the character Simba in the 2019 adaptation of The Lion King. He was a co-composer and singer in “MOOD 4 EVA” (2019) alongside Beyoncé, JAY-Z, and Oumou Sangaré. Additionally, Glover will be starring in the upcoming TV adaptation of Mr. and Mrs. Smith, which he is also a writer and executive producer on. He never fails to impress us with his art, so we’re excited to see the new work Glover brings to our screens!

Brian Tyree Henry

Henry, who plays Alfred “Paper Boi” Miles, has had a lot of acting credits since Atlanta’s previous season. He appeared in 10 different productions in 2018, including Drunk History in the episode “Game Changers,” Irreplaceable You as Benji, If Beale Street Could Talk as Daniel Carty, BoJack Horseman as Cooper Wallace Jr. and Strib, and Room 104 as Arnold.

The following 2 years, Henry acted in numerous additional works, including the animated TV series HouseBroken where he voices recurring character Armando as well as a few side characters. On HouseBroken he is joined by Lisa Kudrow, Will Forte, Jason Mantzoukas, and Clea DuVall, just to name a few. Additionally, many fans will remember Henry as Phastos in Eternals. Here’s some of his IG posts with his cast members!

Henry also stars in the exciting upcoming Bullet Train which features additional stellar castmates including fellow Atlanta star Zazie Beetz, Brad Pitt, Joey King, Bad Bunny, Sandra Bullock, and many more. Take a look at the enticing trailer below!

Other upcoming works of Henry’s include Red, White and Water (2022), TV mini series Class of ‘09 (August 2022) and The Magician’s Elephant (2023). We’re looking forward to seeing Henry’s roles in these awesome productions!

LaKeith Stanfield

Each year, Stanfield continues to impress audiences with his incredible talent; his passion for his work is clearly evident through his carefully curated acting skills and producing capabilities. A 2018 production with Stanfield that comes to mind is the symbolic Sorry to Bother You, where he stars as main character Cassius Green.

In 2019 Stenfield played the role of Lieutenant Elliot in the iconic Knives Out (who’s ready for Knives Out 2?!?), and also appeared as Demany in Uncut Gems. That same year he began playing the role of Guy in BoJack Horseman, although he and Henry did not appear in the same episodes of the series.

Stanfield has played additional memorable roles in 2020 and 2021 such as Michael Block in The Photograph, Bill O’Neal in Judas and the Black Messiah, and Cherokee Bill in The Harder They Fall (which also features Atlanta co-star Zazie Beetz).

The Netflix original anime series Yasuke is another outstanding work of Stanfield’s where he portrays main character Yasuke, and is also an executive producer on. Based on history, Yasuke was the first Black samurai dating back to the late 1500’s, and the series demonstrates Stanfield’s outstanding storytelling abilities. As we wait for a second season, we highly recommend watching this well-done series if you haven’t already.

We can’t wait to see what Stanfield’s Atlanta character Darius has in store for season 3!

Zazie Beetz

Beetz’s role as Van in Atlanta is for sure one of our favorites of hers, although we can’t help but recognize her other amazing roles since the show last premiered. A few in particular from 2018 that come to mind are Beetz as Domino in Deadpool 2 and as Astrid in Slice.

Beetz also dominates the screen in the psychological thriller Wounds (2019) as Alicia. Two TV series that she has appeared in since 2019 are Easy where she plays recurring character Noelle, and The Twilight Zone as Sophie Gelsen in the episode “Blurryman.” Other productions that Beetz worked on in 2019 are The Undiscovered Country, Seberg, Joker, and Lucy in the Sky. The following 2 years she portrayed roles in numerous productions like Nine Days, Still Here, Extinct, The Harder They Fall (alongside Stanfield), and Robot Chicken.

We can expect more from Beetz in her recurring role as Amber Bennett in the animated TV series Invincible, as well as upcoming productions The Bad Guys (April 2022), Bullet Train (as mentioned earlier, alongside Henry), and Shelter.

Her Instagram is a great way to keep up with the talented actress. As far as her personal life goes, Beetz turned 30 just last year, and shares that she has been loving this new decade of her life!
