Netflix has unveiled the premiere date and first-look images for its highly anticipated limited series His & Hers, a six-episode psychological thriller from visionary filmmaker William Oldroyd. The series will debut globally on January 8, 2026, with Tessa Thompson and Jon Bernthal leading the cast.
Adapted from Alice Feeney’s bestselling novel of the same name, His & Hers unfolds in the oppressive summer heat of Atlanta. The story follows Anna, played by Thompson, a former news anchor living in near isolation as she drifts away from her career and friends. Her life takes a dark turn when she overhears news of a murder in Dahlonega, the quiet Georgia town where she grew up. Unable to resist the pull of the story, Anna dives headfirst into investigating the crime — only to find herself entangled with Detective Jack Harper (Bernthal), whose growing suspicions about her connection to the case threaten to expose long-buried secrets.
The tense cat-and-mouse dynamic between Anna and Jack drives the narrative, as each episode peels back new layers of deception and truth. As the tagline suggests, there are always two sides to every story — His & Hers — and someone is always lying.
In addition to starring, Tessa Thompson also serves as an executive producer on the project. The creative team is led by William Oldroyd (Eileen, Lady Macbeth), who serves as co-showrunner, director, writer, and executive producer alongside Dee Johnson (Fellow Travelers, The Good Wife, ER). Bill Dubuque joins as writer and executive producer, with Kristen Campo for Campout Productions, Jessica Chastain and Kelly Carmichael for Freckle Films, and Kishori Rajan for Viva Maude also executive producing.
The ensemble cast includes Pablo Schreiber, Crystal Fox, Sunita Mani, Rebecca Rittenhouse, Marin Ireland, and Poppy Liu. Produced by Fifth Season, His & Hers promises a tightly woven mystery brimming with twists, secrets, and psychological intrigue.
