Five Cartoon Network Shows We Love

Cartoon Network is home to some of the best animated shows ever, and we’re listing five of our favorites!

Cartoon Network was trending on Twitter today as users were debating which kids’ network is superior.

We won’t be debating that today, but we can certainly share some of our top picks for the best Cartoon Network shows! We know you’re dying for nostalgia, so let’s jump right into it.

The Powerpuff Girls

Sugar, spice, and everything nice. If The Powerpuff Girls didn’t steal your heart as a kid, then we probably can’t be friends. This crime-fighting trio of Blossom, Buttercup, and Bubbles were accidentally created by Professor Utoniom during a failed experiment! In an attempt to create the perfect little girls, he created these three superheroes. Initially premiering in 1995, this series ran until 2005, but it’s popularity left reruns on for long after.

Courage the Cowardly Dog

A personal favorite of mine, Courage the Cowardly Dog, is the sort of creepy kids’ show we’re missing right now. Wimpy dog, Courage, is faced with new terrifyingly creepy monsters every episode as he attempts to save himself and his owners, Eustance and Muriel. This show was captivating as a kid for both its absurd humor and creepy tone. Taking place in the “middle of nowhere,” this show is the perfect example of a creepshow.

Adventure Time

Originally a viral hit online, Adventure Time was commissioned by Cartoon Network as a full show. Airing on the network in 2010, it immediately grew a following. Known for its unique and fun animation style, this show includes hit characters, Finn and Jake. The fans of this show are absolute die-hards, to say the least, as the fan base is still increasingly growing.

The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy

Following the lives of two children, Billy and Mandy, this quirky show is known for its amazing characters. The two children are best friends with the Grim Reaper, who after losing a bet to them is forced to accompany them forever. You may remember Mandy as the hotheaded, fierce gal and Billy as the funny character!

Dexter’s Laboratory

Ending off this list strong, Dexter’s Laboratory, gave us the brilliant, boy-genius Dexter. With a secret lab in his bedroom, this kids’ show was imagination fuel at its finest. If you watched this show, you will remember Dee Dee, Dexter’s older sister who was always trying to mess with his inventions. This sibling rivalry was relatable and made the show a little more fun!
