Fans React to ‘House of the Dragon’ Episode 6!

House of the Dragon actors Emma D’Arcy and Olivia Cooke have finally made their way to our screens in episode six. As characters evolved and dynamics shifted over the show’s time jump, fans were excited for the switch and eager for what’s to come and took to social media to share their thoughts!

House of the Dragon’s most recent episode “The Princess and the Queen,” brought new faces to key characters Rhaenyra and Alicent, now played by Emma D’Arcy and Olivia Cooke, respectively. All of the characters have aged 10 years since the last time we saw them. Fans have been increasingly blowing up Twitter each week, garnering just as much attention as its predecessor Game of Thrones. With every new episode, the show is on a steady upward trend of viewers and ratings, averaging about 29 million viewers each week.

Here’s what some fans are saying about the latest episode:

Praise was given for the forever memorable performances of D’Arcy’s Rhaenyra and Cooke’s Alicent.

Some wanted more time with Daemon Targaryen and Laena Velaryon’s relationship, as well as to explore Rhaenyra’s affairs with Harwin Strong. They quickly got attached to the characters of Laena and Harwin, who both faced untimely deaths at the end of the episode.

Fans weren’t too happy to see that a scene was cut, depicting Daemon consoling his daughters, Baela and Rhaena, after Laena’s premature death. Maybe it’s time for Daemon to return to Westeros.

With the time jump came the introduction of the next generation of Targaryen children. Alicent and King Viserys’ eldest son Aegon particularly sticks out as he’s presumed to be the “true” heir to the throne. Fans say Alicent is emulating Cersei Lannister from Game of Thrones, with her son not falling too far behind.

People were agreeing on their hatred for Queen Alicent and Criston Cole across the House of the Dragon hashtag. Alicent still dawned the bright emerald green dress that’s reminiscent of the character’s entrance last episode. Clearly, not everyone likes Team Green.

Though Rhaenyra and Laenor are meant to be the image of a happy family with an agreement, the secret about the boys’ real father comes out.

Oh yeah, there’s also raving about the large amount of screentime the dragons finally got this week.

Make sure to tune in to episode seven next Sunday on HBO or HBO Max at 9 p.m. EST!
