Everything We Know About ‘You’ Season Three

Here are all the details on the upcoming season of Netflix’s ‘You’!

Well, hello You.

Although the upcoming season three of You is set to premiere in 2021. Here are a few spoilers of everything we know so far about the highly anticipated season!

In season two, we left off with Joe and Love moving in together, starting a new life with their soon to be child on the way. However, things took a turn when Joe got a glimpse of their new neighbor, making her his new target of interest.

So what is exactly in store for Joe and Love in this new season? Here are all the details we put together of what we can expect to see!

Stuck in the Suburbs

We’ve seen Joe live in big cities such as New York and Los Angeles. However, in this season, his murdering and stalking will take place in the suburbs.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, showrunner Sera Gamble said, “We are evoking where we would like to go, which is to a much more suburban, insular world where Joe would be a complete fish out of water,” she said. “And now Love occupies a very different place because she is the mother of his child but also not the woman he thought she was.”

Joe’s Neighbor

In the last moments of season two, we got a short glimpse of Joe’s mysterious new neighbor, and although we never got to see her face, one thing’s for certain she is definitely Joe’s type with her love of books and overall mysterious vibe.

“I think to me, the most important thing about that last scene is just it’s confirmation that Joe is still Joe in a way that’s not going to be great for him. He has not learned that he cannot just keep looking for the next person to attach his hopes and dreams to that way. It seems clear that he’s falling into some version of that same pattern. I can’t say that we know exactly what a season three would be, but I can say things won’t go well for Joe.” Said Gamble.

New Characters

We can also expect to see some new faces this season. Actress Shalita Grant will play Sherry, a “mom-influencer” who pretends to welcome Love to her social circle but will end up being the mean girl.

Actor Travis Van Winkle will also play Cary. A wealthy man who befriends Joe into his group of friends.

Scott Speedman will play Matthew. Who is described as “a successful CEO, husband, and uncommunicative father. He’s reserved, mysterious, and has a tendency to be withdrawn…all of which masks a deep well of emotion underneath.”

Old Faces We Will See

We can also expect to see some old characters as well in season three. Some of Love’s friends, such as Sunrise, played by Melanie Field, Lucy played Marielle Scott, and Gabe, played by Charlie Barnett, could appear in this upcoming season. Ellie, who is played by actress Jenna Ortega could also make an appearance.

“Part of the fun of Joe is that he is not very good at doing bad things. He doesn’t plan them well. He doesn’t execute them perfectly like a mastermind. And so there is always the worry that things from his past are going to catch up with him. What’s great about that is it creates a landscape for the show where you do get to revisit your favorite characters moving forward. Ellie is still in Joe’s life. He’s sending her money. She hates him, but he is sending her money. So that door remains open for us. And as you saw in season two, I mean Beck was dead, and she came back. One of my favorite things to do is bring back a dead person to haunt you. So the door is wide open for everybody’s favorite characters.” Said Gamble.

Overall it looks like it will be a very exciting upcoming season. As for now, we will have to wait for 2021 to watch the premiere of You!
