ESPN Launches Streaming Service This Fall

ESPN launches direct-to-consumer streaming service this fall for $29.99 a month, offering live sports, replays, originals and more.

ESPN is officially stepping into the streaming spotlight. The iconic sports network announced Tuesday that its highly anticipated direct-to-consumer streaming service will debut in early fall, with a monthly subscription price of $29.99.

The new platform—keeping the trusted ESPN name—aims to deliver the full scope of what fans expect from the network, now in one central digital hub. “We are providing everything ESPN has to offer directly to fans and all in one place,” said ESPN chairman Jimmy Pitaro.

While many services opt for flashy rebrands, ESPN is doubling down on the power of its name. “Across every generation, ESPN is the most trusted, loved, and recognized name in sports,” Pitaro explained. “Our straightforward approach to name and pricing will help fans cut through the clutter.”

The service will be accessible through an enhanced ESPN App, offering not just traditional content but a robust mix of new features. These include personalized SportsCenter updates, in-depth betting tools, and advanced statistical analysis—available on both mobile and connected TV devices.

At launch, fans can expect a staggering lineup of 47,000 live events annually, along with replays, studio shows, and original programming. Subscribers will gain access to all seven of ESPN’s domestic linear networks, plus ESPN on ABC and additional streaming options.

Users will have multiple ways to subscribe:

Monthly: $29.99

Annual: $299

Select Plan (includes all ESPN+ content): $11.99/month or $119/year

Current ESPN+ users will automatically be upgraded depending on their plan. For fans looking for even more, bundling options with Disney+ and Hulu will be available. A special introductory offer bundles all three services for $29.99 for the first year—an impressive value for sports and entertainment enthusiasts alike.

Pitaro called the new service “the ultimate sports destination for personalized experiences and features.”

Although a specific launch date hasn’t been revealed, additional details are expected later this summer. One thing is clear: ESPN is betting big on streaming—and it’s doing it with confidence, clarity, and content.
