Dolly Parton’s Sister Asks Fans To Pray For Singer

Dolly Parton’s sister Freida says she was up all night praying as the country icon postpones Las Vegas residency to focus on her health.

Dolly Parton’s sister is reaching out to fans for prayers as the country legend focuses on her health.

On Tuesday, Oct. 7, Freida Parton shared a heartfelt Facebook post just days after her sister, Dolly Parton, 79, announced that she would be postponing her highly anticipated Las Vegas residency due to ongoing health issues.

“Last night, I was up all night praying for my sister, Dolly. Many of you know she hasn’t been feeling her best lately. I truly believe in the power of prayer, and I have been lead to ask all of the world that loves her to be prayer warriors and pray with me,” Freida wrote.

The post ended on an optimistic note, with Freida adding, “She’s strong, she’s loved, and with all the prayers being lifted for her, I know in my heart she’s going to be just fine. Godspeed, my sissy Dolly. We all love you!”

The update came a week after Dolly revealed she would be delaying her Las Vegas run at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. Originally set for December 2025, the shows are now scheduled to launch in September 2026, marking her first extended engagement in the city in more than three decades.

In her Sept. 28 announcement, Dolly explained that she needed to undergo several medical procedures before she could return to the stage. “As many of you know, I’ve been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures. As I joked with them, it must be time for my 100,000 check-up, although it’s not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon!” she wrote.

She went on to emphasize her dedication to her fans: “In all seriousness, given this, I am not going to be able to rehearse and put together the show that I want you to see, and the show that you deserve to see. You see good money to see me perform, and I want to be at my best for you.”

Dolly reassured supporters that while she may be slowing down, she has no plans to step away from music altogether. “And don’t worry about me quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet. But, I believe He is telling me to slow down right now so I can be ready for more big adventures with all of you.”

The health setback follows what has already been a challenging year for the superstar. In March, Dolly shared the devastating news that her husband of 58 years, Carl Dean, had died at the age of 82.

Despite the difficulties, Freida’s message reflects hope that with rest, prayer, and support from fans worldwide, Dolly will soon return to the stage stronger than ever.
