Celebrities Who Have Fostered or Rescued Dogs During Quarantine

Jennifer Aniston just adopted a perfect new pooch, here are five other celebrities who also adopted during quarantine

Jennifer Aniston

Jennifer Aniston recently took to Instagram to show off the newest addition to her life, her new rescue puppy! In her latest post, ‘The Morning Show’ star introduces the sleeping pooch aptly named Lord Chesterfield. Thus, her 35.7 million Instagram followers nearly fainted from the cuteness. In her post, she gave a shout out to The Wagmor Pet Hotel & Spa, which specializes in animal rescue.

Aniston is no stranger to having an animal loving home. She is also the proud owner of Clyde, a Schnauzer mix, and Sophie, a white pitbull. Both dogs are rescues, which is something Aniston takes great pride in. Sophie was one of ten puppies that were left in a box outside of a shelter. One of Aniston’s animal activist friends called her and her husband at the time Justin Theroux (who is also an adoption advocate) to see if they wanted to adopt any of the puppies. Jennifer and Justin ended up being the most drawn to Sophie, who got her namesake because of how difficult the final decision was. In Aniston’s own words, it was a “Sophie’s Choice”. The former couple remain close friends, but Sophie has stayed with Aniston in the aftermath of the split.

With the adorable arrival of Lord Chesterfield let’s take a look at five other celebrities who decided to rescue during the pandemic.

Selena Gomez

Just like Jennifer Aniston, Selena Gomez has been a longtime advocate for adoption. Selena already has an impressive dog family of six! All of them are rescues. During the stay at home order, Selena felt it was a perfect opportunity to add a seventh member. She introduced her new puppy, Daisy, to the world just a few months ago. According to Selena, Daisy is already getting along great with her new siblings.

“I know a few friends who are fostering right now, just to give animals a safe place,” the ‘Ice Cream’ singer said on Instagram live. “I couldn’t help it, I had to keep her.”

Camila Morrone

Back in March, a few days into quarantine Camila Morrone fulfilled one of her lifetime goals. The ‘Never Goin’ Back’ star and model, fostered a husky puppy, Jack, from the nonprofit rescue organization Hollywood Huskies. Camila even fostered Jack’s sister Jill so the pair could be together. On her Instagram, Camila is very open about the benefits of fostering and has made it clear that her new husky has changed her life.

“Fostering a puppy during this quarantine time has been the single best decision. For all my friends showing interest in doing this, DO IT. You won’t regret it❤️❤️❤️❤️ these sweet creatures need you so badly”

Eventually, Camila ended up adopting Jack. She has been very vocal on her Instagram about the importance of adopting as opposed to breeding or buying from a pet store. Every time Camila posts about Jack she makes sure to include the hashtag #adoptdontshop.

Channing Tatum

Channing Tatum, is all about dogs. The actor is even making his directorial debut in a feature called, ‘Dog.’ He shares directing credit with longtime creative partner Reid Carolin, who wrote the script. The story details a former Army Ranger (played by Tatum) taking a road trip to attend his best friend’s funeral with his dog LuLu. The name of the dog is intentional on Channing’s part. The fictional dog is named after Tatum’s pet who died in 2018. LuLu directly inspired the film, which sold to MGM in March.

Two years after LuLu’s death, Tatum finally felt he was ready to adopt again. Rook, or “Rooklin” is a twelve week old Dutch Shepherd. The puppy posed adorably for a series of photos that Tatum posted on his Instagram. The ‘Magic Mike’ star detailed an instant connection when he met Rook.

“After i lost my LuLu i didn’t know when or if I’d be open to having another dog. But he sought me out and we met eyes and then some imprinting type shit happened.”

Dua Lipa

The same year Dua Lipa released her iconic album ‘Future Nostalgia’ she has also taken a huge step with her boyfriend, Anwar Hadid. In July, the pair adopted a tiny new friend named Dexter from The Labelle Foundation. The Labelle Foundation has been a huge influence for celebrities adopting during quarantine. They have worked with Cara Delevingne, Kaia Geber, and Camila Mendes.

Dexter already seems to be the new favorite of his respective families. Anwar’s sister, Gigi Hadid commented on the post calling her nephew a very good boy. Recently, Dexter’s been the star of a few of Dua Lipa’s Tik Toks.

John Hamm

Last, but certainly not least, Jon Hamm is another celebrity who has opted to adopt this year. Hamm has been on the animal adoption scene for awhile. His previous furry companion was a German shepherd named Cora, who died in 2017. Hamm was incredibly close with Cora, even shouting her out in his 2015 Emmy win speech along with the rest of his family and coworkers.

Cora was a foster for Hamm at first, but like so many others he couldn’t resist adopting the pooch. Much was the same for his newest dog, named Splash. Adopted from the non-profit organization ‘I Stand with my Pack,’ Splash and Hamm posed for a photo for the organization’s Instagram. According to them, Splash lives “a fairy tale life now.”

All of these dogs are now living the dream with our favorite celebrities. Despite this, there are still tons of dogs and cats who need help every day. If there is room in your home consider fostering or adopting just like these stars.
