Netflix drops the first teaser for romantic comedy series Can This Love Be Translated?, starring Kim Seon-ho and Go Youn-jung, set to premiere January 16 2026.

Netflix is starting 2026 on a romantic note with the release of the teaser trailer and teaser key art for Can This Love Be Translated?, a new romantic comedy series led by Kim Seon-ho and Go Youn-jung. The series is set to premiere January 16, exclusively on Netflix.

Can This Love Be Translated? centers on an unexpected romance between Joo Ho-jin, a multilingual translator, and Cha Mu-hee, a globally famous celebrity. As their professional and personal worlds begin to overlap, the series explores whether language, emotion, and lived experience can truly be translated into love.

Kim Seon-ho stars as Joo Ho-jin, a gifted translator fluent in multiple languages, including English, Japanese, and Italian. The actor is known for his work in When Life Gives You Tangerines, Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha, and Start-Up. Opposite him, Go Youn-jung plays Cha Mu-hee, a Korean actress who achieved international fame through a zombie role. Her recent credits include Resident Playbook, Sweet Home, and Alchemy of Souls: Light and Shadow.

The series also features Sota Fukushi as Hiro Kurosawa, a Japanese actor who joins Mu-hee on a dating trip show. Fukushi is known for projects such as As the Gods Will, Bleach, and My Tomorrow, Your Yesterday. Additional cast members include Lee E-dam and Choi Woo-sung.

Directed by Yoo Young-eun and written by the Hong Sisters — Hong Jung-eun and Hong Mi-ran — Can This Love Be Translated? is produced by Imaginus and Triii Studio. The newly released teaser hints at romance, cultural collisions, and emotional connection, setting the stage for a heartfelt start to the new year.
