Shira Scott Astrof joined Bachelor Nation as a contestant on Ben Flajnik’s season of The Bachelor in 2012. Astrof, an actress from New York, was sent home week one of the show.

Though Astrof didn’t get much screen time on The Bachelor, that’s not your only chance to see her on TV. Astrof has 42 acting credits on IMDb, including several notable roles before she was cast on the reality show.

Fans of The Office might remember Astrof from her role in season three as Andy Bernard’s girlfriend, Jamie, in the episode “Product Recall.” In the episode, Bernard goes on a paper sales call to a local high school, where he finds out his girlfriend is younger than he thought–she’s a high school student!

Some of Astrof’s other big credits include How I Met Your Mother, King of Queens, Last Man Standing, Criminal Minds, and Drake & Josh

Where is she now?

While Astrof has continued to earn several acting credits since her time on The Bachelor, she’s also pursuing another lifelong dream. In 2018, she founded the nonprofit Animal Rescue Mission in Los Angeles, CA.

“I started rescuing animals at a very young age,” she said in an interview with VoyageLA. “We adopted the kitten and, against all odds, nursed it back to health. That was the beginning of my rescue passion and by age 12, I was pretty much running a cat rescue operation out of my parent’s house in Long Island.”

Astrof made news in May 2020 when, amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, Animal Rescue Mission launched a program to take care of pets for owners who are unable to care for them due to testing positive for the virus.
