Bachelor Biography

Evan Bass joined Bachelor Nation in 2016 as a contestant on Joelle “JoJo” Fletcher’s season of The Bachelorette.

While we’re used to Bachelor contestants having some obscure job titles, Bass entered the show with one of the most memorable: erectile dysfunction specialist.

“Oh my, God bless America!” he said when he got out of the limo to meet Fletcher.

While Bass, a father of three from Nashville, was blown away by Fletcher, the love connection wasn’t there and she sent him home in week five after getting into some drama with Chad Johnson (but let’s be honest, who didn’t get into drama with him?).

Bass was invited back on the franchise for Bachelor in Paradise season three, where he fell in love with Carly Waddell from Chris Soules’ season of The Bachelor. The two made it to the end of the show and Bass proposed in Paradise.

“Our life in Paradise has been nothing short of epic,” Bass told Waddell during the proposal. “I want my kids to see a love like we have. I want them to know an amazing woman like you are. Carly, I want to chase after the fairytales and go on all the adventures, and find all of the interesting things in this world to explore.”

“You are fearless in the pursuit of love and you are fearless in the pursuit of me,” Waddel said. “You feel like home to me and I can’t wait to leave here holding your hand and start a home with you.”

Waddell said yes and the couple were engaged in Paradise.

Where is he now?

In typical Bachelor wedding fashion, Chris Harrison married the couple on national television in an ABC special. They got married in 2017 on the beach in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

“Your heart and soul have resurrected my heart in places I thought were dead forever,” Bass said in his vows. “The way you accept all of me, all of my weird, all of my broken places without blinking, is the most incredible feeling I’ve ever felt. I feel so safe in your love.”

“I promise to accept you for all that you are, which is a lot, but it’s also wonderful,” Waddell joked in her vows. “You’re my best friend, you’re my weirdo, you’re my lobster. You are my everything and I love you.”

Many Bachelor Nation stars were in attendance at the wedding: Wells Adams (a groomsman), Vinny Ventiera, Shawn Booth, Kaitlyn Bristowe, Luke Pell, Whitney Bischoff, Ashley Laconetti, Jared Haibon, Nick Viall, Vanessa Grimaldi, Emily and Haley Ferguson, Tanner Tolbert, Jade Tolbert (a bridesmaid) and Juelia Kinney (a bridesmaid).

The couple announced in Aug. 2017 they were expecting their first child. The following February, Waddell gave birth to their first daughter, Isabella “Bella” Evelyn.

“Y’all – she’s perfect,” Bass wrote in his Instagram announcement. “My heart is toast. Like toast with jelly cuz my dang heart is shook.”

The Bass’s announced their second baby was on the way in May 2019, and Waddell delivered their son Charles “Charlie” Wolfe that November.

“Charles is a beloved family name on both sides and we wanted to incorporate the name wolf because he was born only a full moon and started howling the second he was born,” she shared on Instagram. “We are so thrilled and in love with our new little addition.”

Bass and Waddell made their latest Bachelor appearance in The Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons – Ever! where they caught up on their lives in an interview with Chris Harrison – and their daughter confused him for her grandfather!

“Who’s that?” Waddell asked their daughter during the interview.

“Grandpa.” Bella replied.

“That’s Grandpa?” Waddel said.

“Yeah.” she replied.

Bass and his family live in Nashville, TN. You can keep up with them on his Instagram and Waddell’s YouTube channel.
