AFTERBUZZ TV – AfterBuzz TV’s Spotlight On edition, is a long form interview series featuring actors, actresses, and TV personalities discussing their upcoming projects as well as their thoughts, passions and journeys. In this episode hosts Kristen Snyder and Ryan Malaty interview August Maturo and Ava Kolker.

ABOUT AUGUST MATURO & AVA KOLKER:

Maturo started his acting career at the age of four when he was cast in the series regular role of ‘Issac’ in the one-hour CBS drama pilot Applebaum, starring Rachelle Lefevre and Rhys Coiro. The project was directed and produced by Christopher Columbus. He stars in Disney’s Girl Meets World as series regular ‘Auggie Mathews.’ Other television credits include a guest starring role on Weeds, a recurring co-star role on How I Met Your Mother as well as co-starring roles on Dads, See Dad Run, Raising Hope, and Suburgatory and has appeared in numerous commercials. A child prodigy, August could read and write by the age of two. At his very young age August has shown amazing talent for both comedic and dramatic roles. He is sure to enjoy a long and prosperous career in the acting business. In his spare time, he enjoys playing the piano, little league, as well as singing and dancing. He has a younger brother named Ocean.

As a California native, Ava Kolker has been acting one way or another from the time she could walk and talk. Ava’s first screen role came on the FX television show “American Horror Story” at the tender age of four. Since then, Ava has worked on 9 different movies, three of which are lead roles, 7 commercials, multiple television shows, including twelve episodes of the Emmy nominated Disney television series, “Girl Meets World”.

Ava’s career has been very diverse in the types of roles she has been able to deliver successfully. She has also done some improv on a series of promo spots for Chelsea Lately acting with Chelsea Handler herself and has bantered with Jimmy Kimmel on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Her movie career started when she was cast out of hundreds of children at 5 years old to play a supporting lead as Kate Beckinsale’s unhappy daughter, Augie in the drama “Trials of Cate McCall”. Ava’s first comedy role came when she worked on “Scary Movie 5” as Lily, which spoofs the horror flick “Mama”. She also played a major supporting role in the horror movie Villisca.

Ava also performs musical theatre where she has played roles such as Princess Jasmine in Aladdin, and Corny Collins in Hairspray. Ava started to show an interest in modeling in 2015 and walked the runway for 2 designers in LA Fashion Week 2015. Ava continues to grow as an actress without losing the natural spark of a child who loves her life and her family as well as her art.
