After convincing the receptionist at the nursing home that she is not a reporter, Holly discovers that the situations between Heath and Terry Maitland are eerily similar. She later agrees to go to dinner with ex-cop Andy and he tells her that both the victim and perpetrator’s families have almost all died. Andy calls it a “plague.”A bartender gives Holly advice and asks if murder was a virus, the best route to take is to find patient zero. This leads Holly on an investigation where she discovers that Heath met a woman on a trip to New York that has since been arrested of another slain child, but she still alive. Holly goes to visit Maria in prison, but she denies ever having relations with Heath, which was a blatant lie. An onlooker of their conversation leaves a note for Holly, that leads her on a new path in investigating the demon El Cuco.
